How do i turn the ringer off of a phone - NorStar Meridian M7310 Phone

    When we first installed the phone system some of the upper mgt. office phones were programmed to not ring for incoming calls only inter-office extension to extension calls.

  • lisacruse71 Apr 17, 2009

    No, I am sorry to be unclear.

    I need to program a phone to ring only for internal calls not outside calls.

  • lisacruse71 Apr 17, 2009

    the passwords get me in but the prompts you are giving me are not there

  • Anonymous May 11, 2010

    Sorry, so you want your phone to ring at all incoming calls now?

  • Anonymous May 11, 2010

    What are you trying to accomplish?

    Are the telephone lines ringing on your set and you want it to stop?

    By disabling the ringer, the phone will NEVER ring, ever!

    You will have to look at the flashing light as an indicator of an incoming call.

Ok, gotca.... no ringing at your set, as the title states.

First you need to know the extension of the phone that you want to change. Feature 0 at the phone and hit the intercom key to ensure that we are programming the right phone.

To get into programming press:
-> FEATURE 2 6 6 3 4 4
-> Password: 2 6 6 3 4 4
Now you will have to look at your LCD for 3 arrows
<- Heading..Enter->
<- Back .......Next->

-> you will now see TERMINALS&SETS and press Enter (the top right arrow key) now put in the extn that you want to change.
-> you should now see the extension number of the set and the name that is associated with it, press Enter (the top right arrow key) again
-> now you will see LINE ACCESS and press Enter (the top right arrow) again then LINE ASSIGNMENT and hit Enter again
-> then you will see Show line:____ and hit Scan the scan button
-> it will show something like L002: Appr&Ring now press CHANGE till it says Unassigned
-> keep hitting Scan till all the lines are found, DO NOT REMOVE ANY NUMBERS ABOVE 145, as these are your target lines for your Direct phone numbers (these numbers above 145 may not be there, but just incase)
-> after you find all the Lines, you now hit RLS to back out of programming.

Voila, your phone will not ring anymore except when you receive a direct call to your set -or- via your direct number if you have one.

Can i turn down the base ringer (or turn off) on my vtech dect 6.0?

Welcome to FixYa!

The base ringer is dependent to your handset ringer. If you lower the volume or turn off the handset ringer, the base ringer will follow.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Ringer off displayed on base. How do I turn it back on? Just called myself from my cell phone and phone actually did ring.

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to help with your problem.

The "ringer off' message on the base display is referring to the ringer on the "base" unit not the phone ringers. Your phone handset(s) will still ring even when the base ringer turned off.

To turn the ringer on the base back on press and hold push the ^ symbol on the base until it beeps two times, To turn the base ringer off, press and hold the v symbol until the unit beeps.

If my information has proven to be of help, please give me good rating. Thanks for using FixYa!
