There are lots of reasons a condenser will freeze up, low refrigerant, blocked air flow, fan or blower running slow or if the compressor is outside and the outside air temperature is to low.
I have a walk in cooler at work and all the things listed above were OK, but the unit would freeze up from time to time. I noticed it happened on humid days and when we placed items that would sweat a lot (beer kegs) into the cooler. We had employees keep the door closed as much as possible while going in and out. We also replaced the insulation around the door.

What device can be installed in a commercial A/C split unit to protect it from freezing

A "freeze-stat". An electro-mechanical switch that turns the compressor off if the evaporator coil gets cold enough to freeze the condensate to the coil. "Old-School" stupid-simple fix!!!!

Ice machine harvest two times and shut off

These unit time freeze time and harvest times and keeps track of them. If your freeze time exceeds 35 minutes or harvest time exceeds 3 minutes, it will place unit in lockout. The biggest cause for excessive time to harvest is the harvest valve not functioning properly, and undercharged unit or a dirty condenser. The most probable cause is a dirty condenser. Under charged units can be determined by checking compressor outlet temperature while running, it should be 150 to 190 degrees depending on atmospheric conditions present. If it is harvest valve, the downstream temperature will stay at or near compressor discharge temperature. It should cool down to ambient temperature in a few minutes after freeze cycle begins.

Hoshizaki M# DCM-270BAH-OS runs for days then freezes up evap coil and stops water inlet to evap.

There is a thermostat probe sat on the front of the evaporator to tell the control board when to harvest. Check it is tight in it's holder. Check the condenser is absolutely clean and filters clear. You can adjust the thickness of the cube. set it on the thinnest setting and see if it harvests before freezing solid.

Can an LG monitor stand freezing

Thanks for your question.

A LCD monitor will FREEZE in cold temperatures and thus cause damage. I would recommend not using a monitor in a walkin freezer. I would also recommend not using it in a place that is below 40 degree's.

Thanks for the question, please do not forget to leave a positve feedback rating.

Fans inside commercial walkin freezer covered with ice

The drain may be plugged or not warm enough to keep from freezing. Make sure its insulated and clear. Maybe the fan thermostat isn't keeping the fans off during defrost, Maybe the freezer temp is set below design temperature.

Hoshizaki KM-900MAH Ice Maker it sounds like it is making ice and is freezing it but its not dropping ice any solutions?

Do you hear the machine cycling like normal but just not dropping? Could be the hot gas solenoid. If you never hear it trying to drop that could be anything from a dirty condenser to dirty plates to bad ice thickness control. Run some ice machine cleaner through it and blow the condenser out.

How do turn the temp up on a norlake walkin?

They are usually mounted on the front panel of the evaporator or mounted on the wall behind the evaporator. There is a possibility that the temp. control is at the condenser, and the sensing bulb was slipped thru the wall.Look for the bulb at the back of the evaporator and follow the cap tube.
