IUniden Max 5 cordless phone with base unit flashes 88

I have a Uniden Max 5 cordless phone with base unit and two extensions. Base is flashing '88' and is not reset by simply unplugging the power chord. Phones do not operate; display 'out of range'. Any help with a reset???

Try a new battery. That is usually what "88" means.

My unident cordless phone base keeps flashing 88 .renewed battery but unit is still flashing 88.

Either the base is defective and not keeping the battery charged or the wall outlet or voltage adapter plug is defective.

My base unit unit keeps flashing 8-88, and the hand sets all say searching

If there is an error code with an E followed by a number or "88" displays/flashes it would be an internal issue in the base unit. Uniden does offer a limited 1 year warranty (Covers Manufacture Defects ONLY, if caused by a power surge or power outage or any other type of damage that is not a Manufacture Defect this is not covered under warranty) off the proof of purchase. The proof of purchase is required for warranty service.

Uniden dect 6.0 base is flashing 88

I spoke to the manufacturer this morning because I was having the same issue ... I was told that the flashing 88 means that the base unit is has gone kaput and is no longer working. period.

customer service said that this can happen due to electrical issues and the company will send me a new base unit and handset to replace the one that no longer works.

Uniden base flashing 88 8

I just got off of the phone with Uniden for the same issue with my D1680-4. The alternating "8" - "88" code is an indication that the base is dead. They will be sending me a new base (and 2 handsets). During the call I learned that if you do not have a receipt, Uniden warrants their phones for up to 15 months. The advertised 12 months, plus 3 months for the product to get from manufacturing, through distribution channel and finally sale to the consumer.

Phone flashing 88 8 now flashing e4 cannot get dial tone.

Your manual may have the E4 code, but Uniden certainly will, if you contact their support site. This symptom often indicates a power or function issue with the base unit, and so make sure the base has charging voltage, and the terminals are clean (use a qtip and alcohol). When you contact Uniden Support, have your model number ready, since different units can have the same or different error codes programmed into them.
Good luck, and hope this helps.

Uniden 5.8Ghz phone.

You need to reset the main base unit. Unplug the power from the back of the base. While the power is disconnected, press and hold the delete key while reconnecting the power. Wait for a long beep tone. When the display shows 88 or P, press play button one time. If you have a phone without an answering machine, disconnect the power from the back of the base, press and hold find hs button while reconnecting power.
