Video out on back of the player. The plugs would be red, white & yellow as well. You may have to check you settings on your tv & player as well if it is plug in the right way. The plugs would plug into your tv's video in- red, yellow & white.

First you need a component cable to solve your problem.Since you have not mentioned what device you are connecting to your TV, I''ll assume its a DVD player or a settop box. There is a Red and White audio sockets + Red / Green / Blue component video socket. Just make sure you connect the corresponding two sets of jacks at both end of your TV & DVD player and everything will work. bobhifi_21.jpg

My sony portable dvd player stopped working. The

If the DVD is connected to the TV properly using the yellow, white & red AV cable and the TV is switched to AV and there is still no picture, plug the yellow lead from the back of the DVD player into the green socket. If you see a black and white picture now the DVD output is on Progressive Scan mode. See user manual to turn off Progressive Scan mode.

I have sylvania t.v. that has only one white and one yellow plug in on the back I can not get any picture or sound from the dvd player.

That set has lived too long, methinks. The yellow one is customarily composite video (no sound) and the white one is (again 'normally') the left channel of a stereo input which is something you don't have, otherwise there should be a red-marked jack for the right channel. In your case, the white jack may be a monaural input for sound.

I have connected my dvd player to my tv and although I can see the picture there is no sound

You have a three port yellow-red-white port. Plug the port's yellow end to the yellow plug point of your TV & DVD player both and this way red to red and white to white. I think it fix your problem.

Picture but no sound

Best to use the a/v cables.
Your player should have output ports for audio and video, on the ports that say output, plug the cable red to red, white ot white, and yellow to yellow.
Now, the cable going the back of the TV. Your choice, input1 or input 2. Just plug red to red, white to white, and yellow to yellow.
Now press the the input button on your remote until the picture and sound appear.

No Sound when playing a video game on Coby Pertable DVD player

Do you have the audio plugs in the proper spot? The red & white audio plugs from the PS 2 need to be plugged into the audio in jacks on the portable dvd player in order to get sound. Should match up red to red; white to white for sound, yellow to yellow for video. Hope this helps.

Hooking up a d.v.d player to a vcr/tv combo?

RCA plugs (the yellow, red, and white outlets you speak of) consist of a video plug (yellow) and stereo plugs for audio (red and white). Just match the colors from the DVD RCA colors to the RCA hook-ups on the TV (ex. Yellow the Yellow, White to White).

You don't need to worry about the red one, it just makes the DVD player play stereo audio. Instead, you'll have mono, which is fine, and most modern players can detect mono and switch it for you so don't worry about changing settings and what not (unless you're missing sound on one side.)
