Even older flash units from the same manufacturer can damage newer digital cameras. It's a matter of the trigger voltage. Older flashes can put a lot more juice through a digital camera than the camera can handle.

Separate cartridge into 2 sections -drum /cleaning section, and toner hopper.
Replace drum and cleaning blade, clean PCR. Remove Mag roller. clean out toner hopper, clean mag roller, replace doctor blade, fill with toner, and reassemble
I don't know where you live but Dave at Sy Electronics (480-917-8889) in Arizona knows how to fix Mitsubishi Tv's. If you have been told by your local TV repail place that parts are no longer available don't believe them. Call every repair place in town until you find a comptent and knowledgeable tech.
