Roland MV-30 music sequencer - LCD backlight failure

This means that the backlight has failed. Depending on the age of the TV, this light is provided by compact fluorescent tubes or LED lights and brightens the light emitted by the LCD panel of the unit. On most older TVs the back lights are on the sides of the LCD panel. Repairing the backlight requires taking apart the bezel of the TV. Then you peel off the foil tape and carefully separate the lights from the unit, including disconnecting the ribbon cable that provide the power to the lights. You have to replace the lights with ones of the same size. Then put the new lights and seal the panel. Finally you close up the bezel.

Without the model of the TV, I can't tell which type of backlight you need. http://www.lcdparts.net/ has some replacements. The entire process is difficult and it is possible to break the LCD screen if you make a mistake. For any TV under about 40", you won't find most repair shops willing to do the work for less than the cost of a new TV. If the TV is under warranty (1 year usually), contact Samsung.

IM LOOKING FOR A LCD BACKLIGTH REPLACEMENT PART

The unit name is part of the boot sequence, it should go beyond that and boot up completely. If it gets stuck there, there is surely some problem. Maybe a depleted internal battery, I don't know. Ask a local service center, maybe there's a combination of buttons you could check out while on the phone prior to bringing it in for repair...

you could try a cd lens cleaner to clean the lens in the unit.

This sounds like you have a failure in the power supply. This could be due to a bad solder joint or a failed component. The part cost should be minimal.

The backlight sounds like it is not getting the full voltage. The electronics mostly will run on 5 volts DC. Below about 4.75 volts things just won't work.

probably wont need a new screen, its probably got led backlights in this is the case these may of been dying, take out the screen and if you can see leds switch it on and see if the leds light up, if now just replace them.

If it uses a bulb in the screen then you can try to get a replacement bulb or just get the whole screen.

There is a slight chance that it could be the backlight circuit in which case changing the backlight/screen wont help.

If you have a multimeter test that the backlight for voltage, to make sure it not the backlight power supply
