Played marine radio for 10 min. radio shut off and wont turn back on this is second radio from yous with same problem radio is plmrkt18

I have the SAME EXACT problem. I thought it was the radio - bought another - went to change the units - heard an electrical arc - now the car cranks but doesn't start and the new radio doesn't work either!!! (not that it matters anyway)
Is there an electrical problem with '96 Lincoln's. Where should I start to diagnose the non-starting issue?

You'll need to determine whether your lacking spark or fuel when no start happens, do you know how to do that?

SOURCE: 1999 Sunfire 2.2L wont start

Try starting it with the shifter in neutral. You might have a bad
Neutral safety switch.

SOURCE: just died like you shut the key off.started back

Saw an Olds do this, and it was the ignition switch or key. don-ohio
