Coffeemaker My Bunn coffee maker drips prematurely as soon as water is poured in.

I guess you should always add the grinds before adding the water to the tank!

The Bunn coffee machine has an internal tank used for holding approx three potfulls of water at just below brewing temperature. When you add water for a potful, the thermostat senses cold water and starts the brew heater. The water level inside the tank comes up and goes through the sprayhead. This "surge" of water, that you call drips is normal. The hot water stratifies to the top of the tank, just like an electric water tank in a house. The internal pot heater kicks in and boils the water already in the tank, raising the water level in the siphon pipe to the sprayhead until the reservoir under the add water opening is empty.

THE WATER THAT IS POURED IN SITS IN THE TOP RESIVOIR, ONCE YOU CLOSE THE LID YOU RELEASE A TRIGGER WHICH IN TURN LETS THE WATER FLOW INTO THE MAIN RESIVOIR. THIS TRIGGER HAS A RUBBER STOPPER ATTACHED TO IT WHICH NEEDS TO BE CLEANED. MAKE SURE YOU CLEAN WHERE THE STOPPER SITS ALSO. THE TOP LID POPS OFF EASILY TO REVEAL THE INSIDE. TRIGGER WITH RUBBER STOPPER IS EASILY FOUND. HOPE THIS HELPS

My Bunn coffee filter overflows during brewing. What a mess! Is there any way to slow down the water flow?

If this is a pour-over coffeemaker, you can't do anything about the flow. It's just gravity pushing the water out of the reservoir. But you can try using a coarser grind of coffee. If the grind is too fine (if you grind whole beans for too long in a blade grinder, for instance, or if you're using espresso grind coffee), the water can't flow through quickly enough and it backs up and overflows. Make sure your coffee is ground for a drip coffeemaker.

Coffee starts dripping down before I can get the water all poured in and the pot on the warmer, causing a mess.

This is common with bunn coffee makers, if you are not fast enough, coffee starts dripping. The only solution I found is to use a water pitcher, first fill coffee pot to cup mark you are using, then pour into pitcher, put pot back on machine, then pour in water. You can mark a line on picture, so you know where to fill to each time.

Should I leave the Bunn Pour Omatic Coffeemaker plugged in at all times?

Yes, the coffee maker keeps a tank of water pre-heated, that is what allows it to brew coffee in a couple of minutes. The exception would be vacation (away from home) or other times when you won't be using it for a few days. Visit www.bunnomatic.com if you have lost your user manual.

Bunn coffeemaker starts before water completely in reservoir

You might try this first. Remove the entire top lid and remove the clear suction cup located near the back of the brewer. Clean this cup with white vinegar and also take your deliming tool and place it in the hole where the suction cup was and clean out. If this does not correct the problem, please call customer service with the model and code date. If your machine is 3 years old or less, we can replace it at no cost. If it is over 3 years old, we will replace it at a reduced price.

My Bunn Pour-Omatic coffee maker (White) Heat up

Most likely suspect is the thermostat, however you might want to check the limit switch also(located on boiler between elements).

Bad tasting coffee

you can always clean a coffeemaker with vinegar, but always pour in cold, so you can do it twice or more, but dont re-use the stuff you just used, wait till it's cold or just use some other.after use clean by let water through 2 or 3 times, (also only cold water)

I lost my directions to my bunn coffeemaker. Can you tell me how to make the first cup of coffee in a bunn? Is there just one place to pour the water? Fo you leave it plugged in all the time?

it has a reserv tank equal to 2 pots which are hot all the time
the power switch is only for the warmer plate
you get out about what you pour in,

Water leaking

The silicon seal inside the coffee maker tends to disintergrate. Bunn Inc. does not sell parts for the inside of the coffee makers, but a seal kit can be purchased through a small appliance repair center or repaired for a small cost. Kit is about $8.00 at most places.

Bunn coffeemaker

If you still have warranty on the machine take it in to the nearest service center.
Its probably a lose pipe in the machine. so if you dont have warranty left just open it up and look for lose pipes and reconnect them.
