RX8 factory alarm problems

Not sure what has happened. Remotes were working just fine then one day i had to kinda press it a couple times to get the doors to lock (kinda like the battery was dying). Then couple days later it quit altogether. I figure some with the alarm still works because when i lock the doors the parking lights flash just like it did when the alarm worked. Only cause i could think would be my stereo system draining to much current from the car, however there are no other electrcal issues with the car. Took it to the dealer because ii thought the remotes maybe needed reprogramming, however the tech said the car wouldnt let him program it. Trying to avoid buying a new alarm from the dealer? Reset the system?? any ideas??

SOURCE: car starter not working

look under the dash for a small silver toggle switch....this is a disable switch for the remote start portion of the system..you may have kicked it / bumped it with your foot, causing the remote start portion to be deactivated. Just flip the switch the opposite way and try again..
Also, there may have been a pin style switch installed under the hood...Check to see if it is bent or broken, if it is, simply disconnect it and insulate the wire that was going to it.
This wire is used as a safety to keep the vehicle from remote starting while the hood is up..to keep people from being injured if the remote start is activated while the engine is being worked on.
Have whatever shop installed the system replace your pinswitch if that is the problem.

SOURCE: how do auto remote car starters work?

Usually the car start system has a "Valet" switch hidden somewhere under the dash or in the glove box. This is used to disarm the system for when the vehicle is serviced. You will have to locate and turn the switch on, some units have a small push button. In either case it is a good dea to locate it for future use.

How do you reset the remote, alarm. I have a scytek two way security alarm, remote start. I can lock and unlock my vehicle, however the remote start and alarm won't work. When I press the middle button to have the car start it just beeps, and when I lock my car it just locks it doesn't beep to let me know the alarm is on.

Please advise, do I need another alarm, or just reset it.

SOURCE: The remotes for my system do not operate when I

The "pair" the remote with your system:

1.PRESS AND HOLD the f button on the remote UNTIL the transmit LED lights solid (approximately 10 seconds)
2.PRESS AND HOLD the remote start button (circle arrow) UNTIL the LED blinks 3 times and the amber transmit LED lights up. Your remote is now ready to pair.
3.. Turn the key to the on position
4.Within 5 seconds PRESS AND RELEASE the control button on the antenna.
5. Within 5 seconds PRESS AND HOLD the control button. The status LED will flash one time and the siren will chirp to confirm that the system is ready for remote pairing.
6. Press lock button on remote. System will respond with chirp toconfirm pairing.

Whan can I do if the vehicle alarm goes off and hunks a couple times a day on its own with no one touching the car?

First we would need to know if it is a factory alarm or something you installed after purchasing the vehicle. Or if the alarm is an aftermarket alarm installed before you bought the vehicle. Assuming that it is an after market alarm, the sensitivity is set too high. They are usually installed under the dash by the driver side kick panel. Find the box (black color) find the slot with the plus and minutes on it and turn the dial to at the most medium. If it is a factory alarm, you might have a faulty alarm module or somebody is messing with your car Just for kicks.

I lost my manual in moving and not sure how to set the alarm. It worked a couple of times and then didn't.

There are several SmartSet units by Emerson. The manuals are here: http://www.emersonradio.com/owners/SmartSet%20Series/ .

For the CKS2000N, you set the alarm by pressing Alarm 1 or Alarm 2 (both are on the top, one to the left and the other to the right) then hold the button while you use the up or down arrows to adjust the wake time. Press and hold the Alarm 1 or Alarm 2 button and then press the Alarm Mode button to select the days of the week you want that alarm to ring (Weekdays, Weekends or Everyday).
Finally set the Alarm selector (on the left side at the back) switch for each alarm to Radio, Buzz or Off. If the alarn selector is off, the alarm will not ring.

I hope this helps.

I changed the batteries on my F350. This set the alarm off on the truck. I cannot get it to turn off. I finally had to cut the wires to the siren. The lights still flash for a minute or longer everytime...

If it is a Ford Factory Alarm it should have key FOBS (remotes). Just press the unlock button 2 times and that should stop it. Alarm systems no matter what brand always have remotes. If you have remotes pressing the unlock should disarm the system 99 times out of 100. If that doesn't work then either the battery in the remote is dead, or the remote is broken. Hope this helps. Only one of my my k-9 mundial keyless work the other seems fine but wont activate.

Try to reprogram the remotes to the alarm. Have your vehicle key and both remotes ready. The way to do this is as follows:

1. Turn ignition key to run position.
2. Within ten seconds push the valet button 5 times.
3. The siren will give a chirp, indicating that you are in programming mode.
4. Press the large button on the first remote. A chirp will be given as confirmation.
5. Press the large button on the second remote. A chirp will be given as confirmation.
6. Turn off ignition and remove key. Alarm will give long chirp indicating exiting program.
7. Try remotes. Both should be working.

For the next 48 hours, every time the vehicle is starting the siren will chirp indicating that remotes have been programmed. After 48 hours this feature will turn itself off. Also keep an eye on the alarm light as it will also blink the number of times as remotes are programmed every time the ignition is turn on.

Hope this information helps. Please rate. Thank you.

I having issues with my 02 standard softail. the factory alarm seems not be reseting. i can get the bike to start but then dies out on me. then I struggle to get it back on. anyone know how to reset...

The fob may have fallen out of sync with the alarm. Press the key fob button for 20 seconds and they try arming and disarming the alarm. If that doesn't work you will have to re-set the alarm. A battery disconnect can cause this problem. Look in your owner's manual for alarm re-set procedures.

My keyless entry remote stopped working so i had unlock the door through a cracked window.... the alarm went off, but when i started it, the alem didnt stop.... now when i dont lock it and open the door or...

yes the remotes do have batteries. how ever that might be your problem or the remotes lost its code for programing. step when turning alarm off---- if its a factory alarm put the key in the drivers door when the door is closed and lock then unlock it thats the manuel shut down for factory. step 2------- aftermarket alarm. look for a valet switch most likely it would be installed by the driver kick panel or by the under dash fuse box. when u find it put the key into the ignition. turn it to the run position. within 3 seconds press and hold the valet switch for 3 to 5 seconds you should here a confirmation chirp and the led light will stay on solid and wont blink give it a world let me know what happens
