SOURCE: Just bought a tent trailer with a Dometic Fridge.

You need to make sure that you follow the manufacturer's recommendations for using the unit with each specific power source. It's important that you have the all switches in the proper position, based on what power source you're using.

Here's the manual for your model, save a copy and print it out and take some time to review the section #3 Operating Instructions on page 6.

Hope you find this helpful and will resolve your issue.

The fuse for the DC operation on a Dometic RM 2553 fridge is typically located on the control board, which is accessed by removing the back panel or cover of the refrigerator.

I have a Dometic RM 2820, there is power to the fridge, there is also power to the switch panel on top, however, the fridge will not turn on with AC or gas?

Try looking on side of the chimney / flue for a rewritable thermal fuse. Will have two wires coming out of it, reset button between them. Press button to reset. If still inop, use a test light and probe across the wires. Clip onto one and probe the other. If the reset button was pressed, and test probe light is on, then you have a bad thermal fuse.

If the thermal fuse resets, take a hard look at why it may have tripped. Operating off level, operating in high temps, blocked ventilation, leaking cooling unit.

Sensor light comes on when you push the start button but does not start spinning

This is a problem commonly caused by a blown thermal fuse due to a faulty thermistor or cycling thermostat depending on the model of the dryer. The thermal fuse is located on the blower housing and wired in series with the motor. The motor cannot therefore run when the thermal fuse blows open and no dryer functions works.

Unplug the dryer then remove the bottom panel and the lint duct and check continuity of the thermal fuse. You can also bypass the thermal fuse for troubleshooting purposes. Check for blocked lint filter and restricted vent system if the thermal fuse is indeed blown then replace it including the thermistor/cycling thermostat. Dryer won't start

This usually caused by a blown thermal fuse on the blower housing located behind the rear access panel. This thermal fuse is wired in series with the motor and if it blows, power to the motor is terminated and the motor cannot run. No dryer function works when the motor cannot run.

Unplug the dryer or disconnect power then remove the rear access panel. Locate the thermal fuse then bypass it for troubleshooting purposes.

Bypass the thermal fuse by disconnecting the wires and joining it together. Insulate properly and plug the dryer back in. The thermal fuse is indeed blown and needs to be replaced if the dryer starts. Do not use the dryer with the thermal fuse bypassed due to fire hazards.

Clean the lint filter and make sure the vent system is not restricted then replace the thermal fuse including the cycling thermostat (thermistor for other models) as a standard operating procedure and preventive measure. The thermal fuse usually cuts out due to a failed cycling thermostat(thermistor for other models).

I have a 2009 toy hauler with a dm 2852, freezer is cold, but the refrigerator is not cold enough. I know there is a temp sensor that attaches to the condensor and I have it as high as it will go on the...

I have the same fridge in a 2009 Heartland Cyclone 3950. Just recently had the same problem. Is your fridge in a slideout? If so, in order to vent out the wall (as opposed to a fridge NOT in a slideout, they vent through the roof, and sometimes don't have fans) - the fan must come on to assist with hot air movement. If you have not heard the fan come on, go outside and check in the access panels.

On mine, the fan is mounted inside, just under the top opening. The thermal switch that operates the fan is mounted to the fins at the top. After verifying I had power, I bypassed the thermal switch and connected the wires together - the fan runs 24/7 now (until I install my new switch) and its cooling like new! smile.gif For the DM2852 model fridge, the Dometic part number is: 3104133.016

I called Dometic myself and got the part number in order for the "authorized service center" to order it - he had no parts breakdown for this section of my fridge. The fridge has a 3 year warranty, so I let the service center order the part for me - free of charge - otherwise I could have paid for it straight from Dometic.

Whirlpool dryer LER5636JQ0 won't turn on

The thermal fuse for your dryer is located behind the rear panel. With the rear panel removed, you can locate the thermal fuse as a small white plastic device located on the blower fan housing on the lower left-hand side (facing from the rear). A resistance reading should indicate close to a short (0 ohms). If the thermal fuse IS defective, the replacement part number is 3392519. You can find all this information at searspartsdirect.com. Just type in your model number and look under the "Bulkhead" heading on the next page. The thermal fuse is listed as item number 7. There's also helpful part locator diagrams to assist in troubleshooting. I hope you find this information helpful. If you need further assistance, please post back and let me know.
