I called Motorola about my broken ear hook and they said they would only replace it if I could find my receipt and prove that it was still under warrenty. I could buy it she said for $19.99. Seeing as that's how much I paid for the headset itself last Christmas I practically laughed at the lady. No more Motorola for me.

I have the same problem with Motorola Pure H12; a broken rotating ear hook so I called Motorola's customer service number provided by Empress as #1 Solution suggested, and on a Sunday at 9:00 AM the Motorola Customer Service Dept was on duty and is sending replacements. Thank-you Excellent Assistance

The ear hook on my H500 broke as well.  I called Motorola (866-289-6686) and they are mailing me a replacement.  Even though This bluetooth has a 1-year warranty.  I purchased mine in Jan. 2007 and was covered but the rep didn't verify anything regarding the purchase date so even if you're outside of your warranty, you might still give it a shot.

The ear hook on my Motorola H690 bluetooth broke, too. I called Motorola 1-877-MOTOBLU and demanded a free replacement. I too was told that the ear hook was only warranteed for 1 year. I told the rep that I had had the product less than one year. The rep did not attempt to verify this. She said she could make a one-time exception and took my name and mailing address. She said I would receive it within a week.

Note: You can not BUY the ear hook at Radio Shack or Best Buy. Both places told me that the only way to get one was to call Motorola or buy one on-line.

I plan to find a source on line and get extras. I doubt I'll get a second one free from Motorola.

Personally, I think Motorola bought cheap plastic ear hooks. I think they should ship a replacement package of them (at least two) to me overnight. That's about the only thing that would make me buy Motorola again. What ever happened to high-quality and customer service? Geeze.

I called the customer service number as posted by Empress. I explained that the earhook on my H500 bluetooth broke off and is lost. I was told that falls under damage which is not covered by the one year warranty HOWEVER, she can replace it FREE of charge as a one time courtesy. She took all of my info, gave me the order # and said I'd have the replacement hook in one week. Thanks Empress.

I just got off the phone with Motorola (1-877-MOTOBLU). They are sending me a replacement ear hook at no charge. Didn't even ask when I purchased the ear piece, and didn't mention "one-time courtesy" or anything like that. It was very easy, and the ear hook will be here in 6 to 7 business days. YAY!!

Or not!! I just called again because it's been 10 business days and I haven't received the ear hook. This time I talked to a person who was reading her script out loud to me before asking the questions lol... and guess what! The hook hasn't been shipped yet but they'll process the order right away and now I'll have it in 5 to 7 business days. We'll see.

    Did it actually arrive ?

  • Suzanne Aug 04, 2014

Nope! I forgot all about it because luckily one of my co-workers gave me some ear hooks.

I just called Motorola at the above 800 number and they didn't verify the purchase date, but I told them it was under a year that I purchased it. They are sending the ear hook for free. Cool! Thanks Motorola!

Thanks for the advice. My puppy chewed the earhook on my bluetooth. I called the number above (866-289-6686) and customer service replaced the earhook free.

I called motorola for a replacement earhook and there was no hassle. I simply gave the representative my address and told her where it was purchased and she placed the order.

My dog chewed up my bluetooth too! You can find replacement hooks on Ebay. Just search under "Motorola bluetooth ear hook". They usually go for around $1 - $5. Good luck!

They were out of stock of the earhooks but offered me to send in the whole thing and they would replace the whole thing. i decieded to wait a couple of weeks and they will send me a 3 pack of the earhooks.

Motorola is absurd...i jsut called about replacing the ear hook on my headset and they said because it is broken, that falls under the physical damage category and voids the warranty, but i could purchase one for $19.95, almost half of what i paid for the headset...absolutely crazy!!!!

I use the H700 and a few others. Seems most die before they break so why pay more for less.

Ear Hook - broke

Mines broke as well and it was just only one week. The only suggestion I was given is to buy a whole new headset which makes no sense.
