Blueaire 501 dust caked up on wires and fan,how do you take it apart to clean it?
Hi, I have had the same problem and have figured out how to open it.
To open your blueair air purifier, follow the steps below;
1. Get a phillips head screwdriver,
2. Open the unit and remove the air filters.
3. Use the phillips head screwdriver to remove the screws that you can see.
4. After taking out the screws, remove the "galvanizedSwedish steel housing" (cream coloured sides) of the purifier by lifting it upwards (i.e. from bottom to top of unit).
4. You will now have access to the interior of the purifier.
5. You can now take out the fan and clean it, or what ever part you are trying to clean. I used a Dyson HEPA vacuum cleaner.
6. To reassemble, reverse the instructions above to reassemble the purifier.
