My ac is acting funky. my ac will blow cold air as im moving. once i stop and idle for longer than 3 or 4 minutes, something will kick on and then it will start to blow hot air. as this happens, my car temp will slowly start to rise. Once i start to move, it'll make the same sound and start blowing cold air again and the temp will start to come down. any thoughts??

Start by checking to make sure that the a/c condensor and radiator is not full off debris. If the condensor and radiator were full of debris it will limit the air flow from the engine cooling fan which in tern will cause a high discharge pressure on the discharge on the a/c causing poor or no cooling at idle and could also cause vehicle to overheat. Check and make sure that the cooling fan as well as the condensor fan are coming on together when the a/c is turned on if equipped with 2 fans.

A/C Blows warm when idle

I can't say much without having the actual code.
When the ac stops blowing cold at idle, the most common reason is not enough air flowing thru the radiator, or the radiator fan is not running and the only air flow is when the vehicle is moving.

A/C kicks off and recirc light comes on

AC clutch is going to the dogs. Or the high pressure switch is giving it up. This is assuming AC belt is not slipping. Also check the system charge as it may need recharging.

Car blows warm air when idling

It sounds like your AC unit could be overheating or even damaged.

AC units have a sensor that will turn them off automatically to prevent damage from overheating. If there is an insufficient amount of air flow, the unit will heat up, and then eventually turn off.

When the car is moving, more air is forced over the unit, likely keeping it cool enough to run, however, when the car come to a stop, it loses that air flow, and quickly heats up. Thus, the AC would work while the vehicle is in motion, and overheat and stop when the car is stopped and idling.

However, the AC unit could be completely blown. The cold air while moving could be just a case of air being forced into the car. Think of a house fan, the fast the wind blows on you, the cooler it gets.... Thus, it could be an illusion that the AC is working when car is in motion, when it really isn't.

Hope this helps.

Nissan 2000 ac hot when idle

the a/c condenser has a fan in front ( there is actually 2 fans if you sit on the car it will be fan on right side ) if this fan does not
come on immediately when you are parked and engine in idle
there is a problem with power to it, or motor failure. If you drive it
on the highway and a/c operates fine that's because air is circulating though condenser (thats what the fan is supposed to do at idle or slow traffic)
