I AM THE OWNER OF A MEADE LX 50 10 INCHES WITH THE SUPERWEGE EQ PLATE. BUT THIS ONE CAN BE SETTED TO 25 DEGREES LATITUDE BUT NOT UNDER. SO I INTEND TO USE IT IN MADAGASCAR AT A LATITUDE NEAR 20 DEGREES. IS SOMEBODY HAS A SOLUTION TO THAT ? MAY BE I CAN MODIFY THE EQUATORIAL SUPERWEDGE BY ENLARGING THE APERTURE SETTING LATITUDE ? TKS SO MUCH AND HAVE A GOOD DAY

Since you already disassembled the scope-- you can send the board to Ron Sampson and he should be able to repair it. He fixes main boards and hand controllers (including the screen and keyboard on the hand controller!)

If you post a message on the Yahoo LX90 group looking for Ron Sampson he will answer you. You can then email or phone him for instruction on how to send him the board.

ARE YOU SURE it's the board? It could be a bad keyboard or a bad cable on the hand controller. You should get another hand controller and cable and test it before you send it off. Can you borrow a hand controller and cable from anyone.... or from a local scope retailer?

First go to Meade's manual web site -- look under the REFLECTOR heading and download a manual. Here:

Second-- It's NOT ASTROLOGY! It's Astronomy!

Astrology is completely fake and superstitious belief that the planets and stars affect your life!

The MIRROR is on the bottom of the telescope- this is called a REFLECTOR style telescope. The focuser is on the TOP (side) of the telescope. Make sure the focuser end is UP and the mirror is on the bottom pointed toward the GROUND.
