Just take the battery out of the phone wait 10secs then insert the battery back in and it should work or you could have just turned it on by pressing and holding the red button on the phone's keypad.

Uncaught exception: Index 16 >=16 appears when i reboot my phone and i cannot see my text msg icon in my menu on my blackberry torch 9800 searched the icon everywhere its not in any folder nor is it h

I will suggest two things. 1. Backup everything you have on your phone and wipe it by going to (for O.S. 6) Options, Security then security wipe. Make sure the Email,Contacts... Check box is enabled. You may or may not enable the User Installed Check box. Note that your contacts and user data will all be deleted, but never mind you will have them in the Backup.(If you really backed it up, either using BB Protect or BB Desktop Manager) 2. You can also try and re-install or re-upgrading the O.S. I hope these help. Thanks for using Fixya!

My son said he added a folder to his 8330 blackberry curve and now all the icons on the front screen and all other screens have dissappeared. I am clueless on what he did. He can still make and recieve...

From the home screen where the icons used to be, press the BB menu butoon, then select Show all and press the Pearl Button.

If that does not work, then download and install the latest version of BlackBerry Desktop Manager software from: https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/contactFormPreload.do?code=A8BAA56554F96369AB93E4F3BB068C22&dl=DA5FB46338C8C0DCB1039F7898184FC5

Once installed, connect your BlackBerry to your computer via the USB sync cable. Open Desktop Manager, and click the Application Loader. On the right, you will see Update your device software. Click the Start Button, and if your BlackBerry is not on the latest Handheld Software, an update will appear. Select the update, and run the install. Be sure to select the option that backs up and restores your data. Once started, do not shut down your computer, or disconnect the USB sync cable as this could damage the device.

Once completed, your BlackBerry will restart and you will have the latest version available. This version has been known to correct various issues.

If the issue is still present, then it could be hardware related, and may need to be repaired or replaced. I would then suggest contacting your Provider for Hardware Support.

I am using my daughter's old phone, a blackberry curve. She has customized it and I can't find the profiles icon. I need to get out of vibrate and put on a ringtone

The profile icon might be "hidden", if so, press the "menu" key on the BlackBerry then chose "Show all", this will show all the hidden icons.

If not, try to go to "options", then "profile". If that is not there...

Try to reset the BlackBerry by taking the battery out...

If that doesn't work then you need to reload the OS on the BB... (hopefuly you won't need to go this far)

My Blackberry curve 8320 won't turn on it just has a battery icon with a red line through it on screen. The icon stays on with the backlight until the battery dies, A new battery was tried and problem...

This usually means the bb and battery got a little wet or has other issues. Try these solutions in order. They go from easisest to hardest. NOTE: If you have an insurance policy on the bb probably best just to take it in.

1. Remove the back cover. Remove the battery and the SIM card. Wait 30 seconds. Replace SIM, battery and back cover. Reboot. Plug in the bb and charge fully.

2. If that doesn't work, allow the bb to remain unplugged but ON for about 24 hours to drain the battery. Remove back cover and battery. Allow battery and opened bb to sit in a dry environment for 24 - 36 hours. Relace battery and cover. Reboot. Plug in the bb and charge fully.

3. If that fails, try another battery (a friends or one from your cellstore) to see if tat's the problem. If so, (a) retry step 2 but allow battery to FULLY drain then dry out again, (b) buy a new battery for $60 retail or (c) buy a new battery on ebay for a lot less.

4. Take in.

Missing "profiles" icon on my BB 8310 curve

In the main screen, before you enter the menu, if you scroll the joystick to the up, you reach the upper profile icon. But to get your old icon back, maybe it's been hidden and you only need to go to your main menu, press the menu button again, and you should see the "Show All" option, if it's selected you can unselect it then you can go back to main menu and you'll see the hidden icons in grey color. When you come over the hidden icons and press menu button, you can select to hide or show them. And when you do the "Show All" steps again and select it again, this time you'll hide your icons selected as hidden.

Once you load them, then press trackwheel to get the drop down menu again, and COPY ALL From SIM to your BB memory.

TADA, now they will be in your ADDRESS BOOK icon from now forward.
