Can you use a champion spark plug rdj7y in 6.5 silver series lawn boy mower

It is not advisable since the plug has a dedicated design and function.

The Tecumseh Push mowers, most or all of the Tecumseh brands uses a Champion J8c, and the gap at .020.

Most are gaped at .035

Champion RDJ7Y or equivalent. Gap it at 0.020 inch (0.5mm).

I cannot find ANY IPL for a McCulloch (MTD) MS1436. The nearest matches are a Mac 3516 (600035 - MS1635AV) or a Mac 3818 (600038 - MS1838AV). Both use a Champion RDJ7Y. Take your plug to an auto parts store, compare it with a Champion RDJ7Y and I think they will match, if not they will have something that will. HTH

Or another brand, "NGK" #BPMR6F/130-769
You can set the gap to .020"
