When I attempt to print, the printer grabs the paper in the lower right hand corner (I'm facing the printer), crunches it a little, then rejects the whole sheet. I see there are 11 other complaints of the same problem, some of whom solved it by pressing a heavy card through the rollers. That hasn't worked for me.
The online manual for the tool is useless. Your help would be gratefully received.
Thanks,

SOURCE: paper jamming and feeding unevenly
I have the exact same problem. Until last night it worked perfectly, and when it ran out of paper, I put more papers in the back of the printer correctly and since then it won't print, it pulls paper to the right and the paper jams. I tooked the printer to the service and they say that I'm lucky that the warranty did not expired yet, cause the problem is a "manufacturing mistake", and that they will take it to the Canon service.
I realy hope they will do the job. I'm expecting to repair be done till tomorow.
SOURCE: Paper feed problem
i disconnected turned upside down and started shaking it and believe it or not the roller starting working it prints fine!
SOURCE: canon pixma mp170 all in one printer
Seems to work a little better when I adjust the plastic clip that slides to fit the paper, so that it feeds straight ... still have problems with jamming, though
SOURCE: paper pulls to the right, jams, won't print, tried different paper still won't print
Hi,
Remove the jammed
paper. Unplug the printer from the mains and PC. Inspect the rollers, etc for
tiny paper piece(s) that may be stuck, or other debris. Try to clean rollers
and make sure they are dry.
Keep printer unplugged for about 2 minutes and
replug and try a test print.
Also make sure that you have waited long enough
for the printer to heat up before giving a print job.
Finally, it could be an issue with the paper
sensor. If this is the case, you will probably have to take the printer in for
servicing..
Hope that helps!

SOURCE: my canon pixma MP210, is not feeding the paper
There is a foreign object in the paper tray. Because it is curved you cannot see it. It is stuck in the narrowed area right before the feeding rollers.
Disconnect the cables and rotate the printer in a way it stands on its back.
Open the front cover. Use long thin flat screw driver that can go trough the paper out area and to reach the feed roller.Insert the screw driver between each pressure roller and the the feed roller to release the object. If successful it will fall out from the tray. Usually it's a coin, pen, point-protector, ruller, paper clip and so on.

Usually answered in minutes!
I thought I had something stuck in it. I shook it upside down, but to no avail. I then tried the card trick (mentioned above). The card got stuck, but when I pulled it out a small key(I must have dropped it it) popped out! Fortunately, now it works fine.
