Need to remove top cover of GE WPXQ3090T2WW top load washer

How do I remover the GE washer top cover which the lid is attached to? I need to replace the broken damper straps. It seems there are possible two clips under the front right and left cover based on some generic GE washer drawing I found over internet. However, I still do not know how to remove the cover. Thanks.

There should be 2 screws holding it on at the rear. Looking from the rear these will be at each top corner. Once these are removed push the lid from the front of the machine towards the rear and it will pop off.

I have a Ge top load washer modle number wjre555oh The washer will fill and drain but it will not spin and the agitatior will not work. it will act like it is going through the whole cycle but will not...

your lid safety switch is faulty, this switch controls spin and agitate cycles the lid needs to be closed so this switch will be closed to make the circuit, when its bad its open all the time and can't operate these cycles, you will need to remove the top cover to replace this switch

GE WASHER #WHDRR418G1WW DRAINS BUT WON'T AGITATE OR SPIN

Most likely you'll need a new motor, you can check the belt, to see if its attached around the big pulley. To access, you'll need to pop the front cover off the unit, it has two tabs you push in, on the front, where the top lid meets the front cover. Use a flat-head, be careful not to scratch your paint.

You can also, take off your back panel, on the control console, and remove the wiring diagram, you can diagnose this washer yourself, because the motor has a blinking light that will indicate to you, what is going on with your unit, it will tell the problem for you.

Please take a look at this website, about half-way down, as it could also be your lidswitch.

Replace rubber gasket

Replace the machine with a top loader and you'll never have a leaking gasket again! Worked at National Linen for a while and the floors had drains in them and were always wet! Needless to say the pros have the same problem you do! ;)

You don't have to remove the washer top. Use a putty knife to push the tabs in on the left and right side, about two inches from the sides, at the top seam of the front panel. Front panel pulls forward and lifts off bottom pegs. Lid switch has a tab you need to push toward the center of the switch (its on the back side of the switch) which will allow the switch to push up. twist the switch and pass it back down through the washer top.
