96 seaboo will not go full speed in water, but full rpm out of water

This unit has an output of 95 bhp (96 PS/71 kW) of power at 4150 rpm, and maximum torque of 206 N·m (152 lb·ft/21 kgm) at 2000 rpm. A 5 speed manual transmission transmits the power to the driven wheels. Quoted kerb weight is 1465 kg. Top stated speed is 165 km/h (103 mph).

2 possibilities. It is not getting enough water from the hose or your pressure regulator is bad. Does it sound like the engine is developing full RPM? Could be and engine problem if not coming up to full speed.

what is speed at 3000 RPM , a common speed.
answer in my 96 goes 59 mph. in 5th gear.

the rpm is a function of what tranny and tire size.

The G16 is no V8 it spins fast and last 300k miles. if serviced.

there are 5 speeds possible in top gear.
what transmission tell you which it is , there are 3 trans. and 2 engines. each are Unique.

THAT SOUNDS MORE LIKE THE VARIABLE SPEED SENSOR! IT IS LOCATED ON THE TRANSMISSION! SOME OF THEM HAVE A SPEEDOMETER CABLE ATTACHED TO THEM, AND SOME DON'T! THEY WILL HAVE A 2 WIRE PLUG THAT IS ATTACHED TO THEM!

That is normal. When you put it in gear, the idle speed drops about 400 rpm.

I had a similar problem mine would hit a rev limiter at 3500 rpms. it would blow black sut out of the tail pipe. Ended up being mass air flow sensor/valorem sensor. almost 500.00 from nissan. fixed it though.
