Hi Scott, this is JK. Thank you for your post. I see that you are experiencing some concerns with your dishwasher not starting cycles. The issue may lie with the door latch; a door switch is used to start and stop your dishwasher. It's a safety feature that won't allow water to flow with the door open. With a faulty door switch, there is a chance your dishwasher won't start at all. Dishwasher door switches are about an inch long. The latches are usually black but can be red. There are metal prongs on the body of the switch called terminals. Some door switches have two terminals and some have three.
If your door switch is OK, check the timer assembly. This controls when and how long power is sent to other controls on your dishwasher. If these controls don't receive power, they won't work. The timer assembly contains a motor. Check this motor as well. It is often cheaper just to replace the timer motor rather than the complete assembly.
My last suggestion is to check the cycle selector switches. These switches indicate cycles for washing, drying, and setting the temperature of the water. If one of your switches is the problem your dishwasher may not start. Dishwasher cycle selector switches tell the timer which cycle to run by opening and closing electrical circuits. Most selector switches are six to eight inches long. They are usually black and have terminals. By testing each one of these parts with an ohmmeter you should be able to determine why your dishwasher is not working. It is possible for other parts to fail but these are the most common parts to check.
If all of these suggestions pan out and the problem still persist, think about what may have happened prior to this occurrence. For instance, did you notice any error codes, odors, or other strange functions prior to this issue? If you are still having these issues and can think of anything in particular, please feel free to reconnect.

Hi Thanks for using FixYa. If the cycle doesn't
complete, then the first thing that should be checked is the Timer and then the
heating element. Timers don't often fail. But if every other part of the
dishwasher seems to be working properly and the timer knob seems to be stuck in
one place--doing one function continuously--the timer may be at fault and
required to be replaced. Many dishwashers heat the wash and/or rinse water to a
higher temperature, as the cycle calls for it. In these cycles, the dishwasher
pauses after it has filled with water, waiting for the water to reach the
pre-set temperature. What happens next depends, as follows: On some units, the
pause is timed and the unit continues after the allotted time. On others, the
cycle can't continue until the water reaches the higher temperature. If the
water isn't being heated (say, because of a problem with the heating element or
thermostat), after the unit stops at the heating cycle, it never continues.
When you repair the heating-system problem, the "cycle problem" is
fixed too. Please do accept the solution if the issue is
resolved or post a comment for further assistance. Thanks Rylee
My best guess is the door latch or door latch switch is not working properly. Once the unit is full of water try holding the door shut tightly if the unit runs by doing this check the top rack and make sure it is completely seated to the back. I have found a knife or fork tangled in the top rack and letting it seat, also the alignment of the water line for the top rack. If it does not run with what I have suggested, it will be time to start checking the mainboard operation.
I hope this helps
You said, your Bosch dishwasher on auto wash will stop functioning in middle of the
cycle start beeping and there is an icon of a faucet on the display.
What is your model number and the year of the dishwasher?
Hi Guys My dishwasher this morning has desided to not work correctly. Its a ASKO 1302 about 20 years old. It has been a very good machine.
Over the last couple of weeks during the washing cycle, the dishwasher has been making a loader noise than usual.
1. Today, the dishwasher timer, travels all the way through its cycle, but very little washing take place. 2. Soap power is still there, plates not clean!!!! 3. Water is hot 4. At the end of the cycle, there is no water in the dishwasher.
5. I'm thinking the problem could be the pump needs replacing. What do you think? Greg
next time it stops raise lid on right side at edge of opening will be a small opening where lid switch is push down switch with pencil or something small enough to fit if it starts working replace switch ..if switch is not at that location may be under hinge left rear if that is the case ck hinge screws
