Inglis fron load washer ifw7200tw door is locked, there is no power although the outlet works fine

What I tried was pushing the lid down and I could hear the machine trying to kick into a spin so then while pressing the lid down i rotated to cycle knob slightly ahead and the spinning started. So I geuss I need to fix the connection between the lid and the machine?!

I received an Inglis Washing machine from soneone on freecycle. They thought the belt had broken, doesn't have a belt, it's gear driven. I'd bet the noise you hear is the coupling going out, (rubber). Good luck.

the door lock has internal relays, if they go bad, the motor control board will not function. Even if you cant physically see anything, and even if the door still locks, the door lock assembly is still the most likely problem and needs replaced. The only way to test it is with a multimeter to know for sure before you buy a new one

the door can be manually unlocked by removing the bottom front panel, reach up and there is a pull tab on the lock mechanism. it is a crime that they do not post this online or in the manual, and let folks ruin their clothes.

power problem was a part called the "FILTER" it is where there power cord plugs into, something along the lines of part number 201. cost is $85 plus tax. service man has not seen one of these ever go before.
