Sounds like a bad smps or bad display. I would try the smps, but if that doesn't do it the display costs as much as the tv most likely.

SOURCE: WHAT CAN I DO TO RESOLVE THIS MATTER--PLEASE HELP ME SOMEONE???

Are you using a cable box? If you are then it maybe setup incorrectly. If not, See if when you press the MENU button if the screen is filled. If it is ok then, then the plasma panel is good, but the video processing is possibly bad. Have you tried all video inputs? Let me know more info and i can assist more. Have a good one. Jay

SOURCE: black line down the left side of the screen

This is a bad panel. The panel is very expensive to replace. It would be cheaper to buy a new tv. Sorry about the bad news.

SOURCE: BOTTOM HALF OF SCREEN GOES BLACK R A MINUTE OR SO

remove the back of the tv.disconnect and reconnect the ribbon cables into your buffer pcb.if this does not correct the problem replace the buffer pcb in that location where the screen is going black.you also could have
a defective panel if the buffer pcb does not correct your problem.

It could be the power supply causing this problem - puffed caps in the Power Supply and low voltage to the signal board. Have both checked.

Picture problem

If the set is no longer under warranty, open up the back and reseat all of the connectors and cables. You are seeing a heat related connection problem. If it is still in warranty, bring it in for warranty repair. The other possibility is a heat related connection at the processing chip(s). This is a more complicated repair that should only be done by an experienced tech that works with surface mounted components.

TV Blinks on and off

Phil, from your description it sounds like your convergence IC`s are about to fail, the intermittent off/on cycle is because as they heat up there drawing too much current, the bowed collapse tells me it`s the vertical convergence IC that`s the culprit. You need to get a tech out asap to fix this or they could short and take out the power supply as well and that`s just mooore money to fix it, hope this answers your question, BMW Rider
