Riding lawn mower battery won't hold a charge

It is a battary issue, however it sounds like the engine is not charging the battary so it goes flat, or there is a drain on the battary .

With the engine running are you getting any voltage off the alternator? check with a multimeter. Check voltage at battery while running should be 13 volts or more.

Two weeks ago, when I went to Acura deller for oil change, they sugested me change the battery, since I never got a problem for start, so i did not change the battary. But next day I can not start my car,...

First make sure the terminal and posts are clean and greased.

Then make sure the alternator belt is tight.

The type of battery makes no difference as long as it fits.

What matters is whether or not the alternator is putting out 13.5 volts or higher, in order to keep the battery at 12.5 volts. Put a voltmeter on the battery and rev the engine.

The battary is good but some reason the battary is not chargeing

Hi, You have a bad alternator and or regulator. Many places will test these for free. Drive to a parts store and ask to watch them test you're electrical system. You have a two part charging system. One is the Alternator the other is the regulator. These are many times made into to one intricate system or ONE PIECE that must be replaced both at the same time. Please have your system checked before and after replacing the alternator/regulator. If you have an Advance Auto near you - or Auto Zone - call first and ask if they will check your alternator for proper operation e4bcbf3.jpg

Battary light would not go off

Have the battery and the alternator tested under a heavy electrical load. Some of the cheap battery testers will not indicate a bad or weak cell. Also your alternator may not put out enough amperage to keep up with the electrical demands placed upon it. A good battery tester is a carbon pyle tester. Good luck.
