Recently, my Mits WD-73736 started spontaneously switching viewing modes (normal, expanded, wide...) every few seconds, then it wouldn't turn on anymore. I replaced the lamp and the ballast board. This brought the TV back on line, but after about 20 minutes it starts spontaneously switching picture modes again. Not sure if these problems are related. Heat issue?

1. Unit powers on and works properly for a while then shuts off with a red lamp LED (lamp error). Suspect bad lamp part # 915P020010 2. the lamp is simple; yet you can run into problems with this tv. be very careful replacing lamp. the plug in the tv can be damaged. (due to the design)

SOURCE: WD 52525

This is a sign of a failing capacitor set on the power board. there may have been a small or minimal pulse that went threw the set during the power outage and when the power was restored. this could also be overheating as well due to dust forming on the power boards components. i would remove the back cover and clean as much dust off the power board as possible with some sort of canned air if possible. make sure the cooling system is working properly as well.

please rate and god bless.

SOURCE: Blinking Green light after Capacitor kit replacement WD-62725

I just repaired two Mit WD-62725 sets in the last two weeks.
The first one had bad caps on the power board and the FMT board. The scond one had bad caps on four out of the five boards.
Also, on the FMT board, there was a blown surface-mount fuse.
I advise checking all of the boards for bad caps. If you fine a bad 1000uf cap, replace all of the 1000uf's on the board.
Hop this helps,
Dan

Could be the FMT pcb or the Dm pcb board you should check the caps on them and replace any faulty ones.

How to set up for 3d viewing

You need a 3D Blue ray player and 3D glasses. Make sure that the 3D feature is turned on on your Mitsubishi. You also have to have HDMI 1.4 cables. Anything lower will not produce 3D

Mitsubishi 73 inch. green light blinks for a few seconds then the status light stays on. can hear a clicking noise when the green light is blinking. Replaced the lamp and that does not fix anything.

Mits has had an excessive number of problems with color wheels in some of their optical engines. Provided you replaced the lamp with OEM parts I would suspect the color wheel is causing the noise as well as the shutdown issues.

Going nuts!!

If you are using Dish Network, while in SAT mode, hit the star key on the remote (also labled FORMAT). It will start scrolling through certain modes: zoom, partial zoom, normal, stretch... etc)

Mits WD 52525 format issue.

Here's something that might also be useful. After you turn on the set, and get the regular red blinky lights, hold down the Device and Menu buttons together for about 5 seconds.
The Power light will start to flash in a two digit sequence.

For example, 3 flashes, then 7 flashes = 37.

Here are the error codes, and the corresponding problem:

12 = No error detected, check power supply.
32 = Lamp Cover is open.
33 = Air filter cover is open.
34 = Lamp abnormality
36 = Light Engine (DMD or Lamp Fan stopped)
37 = Exhaust or Lamp Ballast Fan stopped
38 = Lamp Temperature High
39 = DMD Temperature High
41 = Short is detected
44 = DVI cable between FMT and Engine disconnected
