New Ipod Nano 4th Gen 16GB has went blank and will not turn on

I bought a new Ipod Nano 16GB yesterday, with a Griffin Amplifi 2.1 Sound Speaker System. I downloaded my music to the new ipod and attached it to the Griffin - both worked straight away (I charged the ipod first). Now the Ipod Nano will not turn on, and I have tried charging it, but nothing happens (no charging bolt appears). The same thing happend to my Ipod Nano 2GB when I first tried it yesterday (while the 16GB was charging), however I did not think anything of it at the time, as the 2GB has done this before.

    Thanks Nathan.

This problem has now appeared in both my Nano’s – my old 2gb and the new 16gbno longer work. Could this have something to do with the Griffin Amplifi, as both Nano’s were working before being docked with the Griffin.

HI there,

worst case scenario is that a circuit has broken inside. But your ipod will be under warrenty for a year from purchase.

Otherwise, leave the ipod to charge for a long time. Just leave it connected directly to the computer USB port despite not having any change in appearance. Also, don't connect it via a usb hub or through your keyboard. You will need to plug it into your computer directly.

You can also try entering DFU mode. Here is a great step by step guide to do that. http://iphonefreakz.com/beginners-guide/howto-dfu-mode/

Then restore the ipod and update the firmware. Make sure you have the latest version of itunes installed. By checking through software update.

I hope this helps,

Nathan.

    That would be my guess.

It would think it's best to return it to the store, or bring it into apple.

if you wish to return the ipod for service, you can find a local apple reseller by calling apple on 1-800-MY-APPLE

Or you can visit an apple retail store by visitinghttp://www.apple.com/retail/

    Hope this helps.

    Nathan.

Griffin Amplifi 2.1 sound system. The sound coming out of the unit is VERY quiet and does not seem to increase when you turn up the volume with the nob or with the remote.

Hi,

I like to fix things as pet projects...speakers are uncharted territory for me, but my cousin has that speaker and it rocks! You can't find it anywhere...

How's $25 and I'll pay for shipping ?

Thanks for considering (fingers crossed)

No sound from my Pure-Fi Express plus into my 4th gen Nan Ipod

Hi, while your pure express plus you just purchased is not playing out any sound is because, the speaker that enable you to play the sound when you play music through the ipod is faulty and it needs to be replaced with another one for it to function properly again.

After changing the speaker that is faulty with a new speaker, you can now start enjoying the music again through the internal speaker.

Take care.

The altec lansing inmotion does not charge my new ipod nano. What I can do

Maybe this could be the solution...
Source: http://www.speakerstation.co.uk/ipod-speaker-docks-ct-87.html
"...
Important Note: iPods released since Sept 2008 (e.g. Touch 2nd Gen, 4th Gen iPod Nano and iPod Classic 120 Gigabyte, iPhone 3g and onwards) have an updated dock connector that means older revisions of speaker dock may not be able to charge these newer models of iPod/iPhone. Older docks should play music from these newer models with no problem.
The problem with charging is due to Apple removing support for 12v (firewire) charging on these new models of iPod/iPhone. Only 5v (USB) charging is supported on these new models. ..."

Hi My griffin roadtrip will not charge my 4th generation Ipod nano. It says charging is not compatible with this unit. any ideas please

Apple have changed the charging pin on iphone and ipod touch 2nd gen. sounds like maybe you have the one for one of those device instead of your Nano. You will need to get a new roadtrip that supports it, as there is no adaptor to convert to your device

Ipod 4th gen "charging not supported"

It does that to my iPhone; if I want to charge I have to use a separate cable and run the audio into the aux. Defeats the whole purpose of a dock if you ask me, but I guess they never anticipated what they'd have to do to charge the new iPhone batteries back when they designed the pre-G3-phone docks.

I can't figure out how to install my 16GB Ipod 4th Generation mp4

About your recent purchase of
16GB 4th Gen Slim MP3 MP4 Media Player with FM radio

You have been sold a fake sized player. it is hacked to show 16GB actual size may be around 1GB to 8GB. test your player with "H2TESTW 1.4" you will find it the first hit on www.google.com let other people know and open a dispute on paypal, you have been sold a fake item. Do not return the item for refund as sellers address is very likely wrong, useless to wait for a replacement player because they all are hacked. Get a partial refund. I paid 35usd, got 20usd refunded just now.

About your problem.
The player doesn't require anything works with vista and xp /etc just by plugging it into your computer and then turn it on, it will show up on your my computer as a removeable disk.

Does the aj300D speaker dock charge and play the new iPod nano 4t

nano 4th does not support firewire anymore, best option is to bring your AJ300D back to where you bought it. Philips claim that nano 4th is supported is not true.

Compatability with 4th gen nano

I have had exactly the same problem having bought a JBL Radial Micro for my partner for Xmas for use with the Ipod Nano, i contacted JBL via their website and was advised to contact Harmen on 01707278100. I was advised that the new ipod nano (chromatic) would not charge on the JBL radial micro. They stated that this was due to Apple changing the charging pin in the new nano. I have since bought a JBL Stage III. I contacted Harmen before buying this and was advised that the Stage II would not work. Hope that this is of use.
