same problem just now. It is probably dead now. you should just buy a new one but they do cost a fair bit as they are still one of the best consoles so it is worth it

How to stop the N64 from automatically turning itself off

Well if the console had blanked out on you and the red light is still on getting power. THis has happened to me half way through perfect dark while I was playing it froze and then the screen went black and then it went to the tv screen saying no siginal it means that the expansion pack has died on you then. So i tried a new expansionpack for my 12 year old N64 console at that time and it worked again. It could just be a easy problem then.
5 STARS UIF THIS SOLUTION WAS HELPFUL.

My console wont work and when it did it had an error sign. Something about needing a pak. What do I need and how do I get one?

your looking for the "expansion pack" its needed to play the games on the n64, it is located on top of the n64 towards he front of the console. that little door/flap between the power and reset button. get one online for cheap. like ebay or something. keep in mind there are 2 different kind of expansion packs on is black. it is the standard one. one is red on top, that one is better and will play all n64 games like donkey kong 64 and zelda ocarina of time

My Zelda game won't save, as soon as I turn the game off and then reboot the system its gone.

The memory is saved on the game itself, not the console; therefore, the issue probably lies within the game. Try blowing into the game cartridge and the system to clear up any dust. If that doesn't work, your zelda game most likely won't ever save anything again; you'll need to either get a new N64 zelda, a version reformatted for gamecube, or download the rom and emulator to play it on your pc. Hope this helps! :)

N64 will not play on new TV and Stereo Reciever

maybe it's just the T.V I mean the N64 is like 10+ years old and you're trying to get it to work in a new T.V! I reckon that your best bet is to buy an older T.V to play it with or get an emulator e.g PJ64 on your computer and then you can still play your games

Your game or game data is corrupt/ dirty. Try using compressed air to clean your N64 game port and the game.

Snes screen jumps on certain tv

Okay, what I would try is hooking up the snes using the n64 cable. right next to the rf slot in the back of the super nintendo is a slot thats the same video output as the n64 you can plug in the rca cables from it and see if they work

N64's Zelda, majoras mask problem

The Jumper pack is needed for Majora's mask, as the extra space is needed for the game to play the enhanced graphics. Ocarina of time was made before the jumper pak was introduced, so it does not need it.
As for installing it, get a jumper pak installer kit to remove the original memory pak, the insert the new one.

Can't find the channel for my N64

Is your cable RCA, S-Video, or Coaxial? If it's coaxial, check and see if the channel is to 3 or 4. If it's RCA or S-Video, check which slot it's plugged into on your TV. Most likely, the cable's dead, as I've had to replace mine a good 4 times.

N64 problem

Hey,
It is kind of hard to explain, but it is a chunky big plug at the end with two plug things (not the red, white and yellow ones but a really old type one), and you plug it into the back of the TV. I got one of my games to work the other day, I don't know how I got the channel, but it was working fine then I went to take it out and put a different game in (Zelda and the Ocarina of time) but the screen went blue and then it wouldn't turn on again so I'm really confused.
Thanks anyway sorry if it is really confusing
