Open the flip door on the Wii and press the red "Sync" button. Now press the red "Sync" button under the remote battery cover. Done.

Bought a new will remote but it won't work.

Go into the Wii channel and go to settings then look for calibrated remote. Make sure the new wiimote is on. Set the Wii controller on a flat surface and press callibrate. The wiimote will be ready to use .have fun.
Hope this helps.
tip

Wii Cursor is off-center, jerky, erratic, disappears, etc.

  • Verify that the Wii Remote's pointer lens is free of obstructions and contamination (stickers, heavy smudges, etc.). The pointer lens is the tinted rectangle at the end of the Wii Remote. If the Wii Remote Jacket is being used, verify that it's securely in place on the Wii Remote. If the Wii Remote Jacket is askew, it might be partially blocking the infra-red sensor on the front of the Wii Remote.
  • Try a new set of batteries. Occasionally weak batteries can cause this type of behavior.
  • Reset the Wii Remote:
    1. Take the batteries out of the Wii Remote, wait for one (1) minute, and then re-insert them.
    2. Wait a few seconds before pressing any buttons to wake up the Wii Remote.
    3. Re-sync the Wii Remote by using the steps listed above in the white box titled "Try these steps!".

  • Check the Directional Sensor Functionality by holding the Wii Remote with the button side down. Without using much force, tap the button side of the remote against the palm of your other hand. Doing this does not take a lot of force, so be sure not to tap the Wii Remote very hard.
  • Verify Sensitivity Setting dots:
Go to the Sensor Bar's sensitivity setting in the Wii menu.
    • If only one or no dots appear on the sensitivity screen, there is likely a problem with the Sensor Bar.
    • If there are more than two dots, then it appears there is an additional light or infrared heat source being picked up by the Wii Remote. Avoid sources of infrared light in the gameplay area such as electric, propane or kerosene heaters, flames from fireplaces or candles, and stoves or other sources of heat.
    • If both dots appear and the erratic behavior continues even when you move closer to the TV, there is likely a problem with the Wii Remote and it will need to be repaired.

OK, i got a new wii remote, set it up, and now none of my wii remotes are working including the one i just set up.

Try these two synchronization processes and if it still doesn't work than contact me:
  1. Press the Power button on the Wii console to turn it on.

  2. Open the SD Card Slot cover on the front of the Wii console. Remove the battery cover on the back of the Wii Remote you wish to sync up.

  3. Press and release the SYNC button just below the batteries on the Wii Remote; the Player LED will blink. Quickly press and release the SYNC button on the inside of the SD Card compartment on the console.

  4. When the Player LED blinking stops, the syncing is complete. The LED that is illuminated indicates the player number (1 through 4).

  5. This procedure must be followed for each additional Wii Remote added to your system.

    One Time Mode Synchronization
Press the HOME Button on a Wii Remote that is synchronized with the Wii console.

  1. Select the Wii Remote Settings option from the Home Button menu.

  2. Select the Reconnect Option.

  3. Press the 1 and 2 Buttons at the same time on the Wii Remote that you want to synchronize with the console. If you are syncing multiple Wii Remotes, press the 1 and 2 Buttons on each Wii Remote immediately (without a significant pause) in the order you want them synced. The order in which you synchronize Wii Remotes determines the player order (1 through 4) for multiplayer games. The Player LED will blink during the syncing process. When the blinking stops, the connection is complete.

My wii counsel turns on fine, my remotes are with new batteries and flash when pressed the red light, but yhe remotes don't seem to be able to connect to the screen?

if your Wii Remote is not responding It may need to be synced up. I have given you both ways of syncing your Wii. After doing this Please don't forget to rate me as " Very Helpful" & feedback is appreciated - thanks

Synchronizing the Wii Remote with the Wii Console Synchronizing the Wii Remote to a Wii console allows the Wii Remote to communicate with the console. The Wii Remote included with your system should already be synchronized to your console. However, all additional Wii Remotes you use with your system also need to be synced in order to function properly..
There are two different modes of synchronizing (syncing):
  • STANDARD MODE - The Standard Mode procedure is used when adding additional Wii Remotes to your system or if you want to re-synchronize your original Wii Remote. Once synchronized, the Wii Remote will stay synced to the console unless you overwrite the settings by syncing the remote to a different console. For instructions on Standard Mode syncing, please read below.
Standard Mode SynchronizationNote: Make sure you have placed batteries in the Wii Remote
  1. Press the Power button on the Wii console to turn it on.

  2. Open the SD Card Slot cover on the front of the Wii console. Remove the battery cover on the back of the Wii Remote you wish to sync up.

  3. Press and release the SYNC button on the inside of the SD Card compartment on the console. Press and release the SYNC button just below the batteries on the Wii Remote.

  4. When the Player LED blinking stops, the syncing is complete. The LED that is illuminated indicates the player number (1 through 4).
  5. wiiremotesynchstandard.gifThis procedure must be followed for each additional Wii Remote added to your system.

One Time Mode SynchronizationNote: This mode temporarily removes Standard Mode synchronization setup for all Wii Remotes until the power of the Wii console is turned off. When the power is turned back on again, the Standard Mode settings will return.
  1. Press the HOME Button on a Wii Remote that is synchronized with the Wii console.

  3. Select the Wii Remote Settings option from the Home Button menu.

We moved our Wii to another location and a new TV and now the remotes point and click is inaccurate and we cannot easily aim at all. I thought it was the bar sensitivity but I think that's fine. Any ideas?

WII remote

Hey, maybe your Wii is not sensing the remotes movement if there is too much light in the room. Try to sinc the remote to the console and then go to the options and check the sensitivity and adjust if necessary.
