cranks ok> / not stated, and is 100% #1 key fact. ill guess (daft) it cranks OK. so check fluid levels(oil tops list ) then fuses.we test them. then scan it. all modern cars same. deal.
if it dont crank, "my starter is silent or just clicks) then that be a horse of a different color. dead battery ? charge system failure, starter bad? PRNDL (p/n switches bad )try cranking in neutral yet my wrangler is 6 speed stick with a clutch switch that too, is different. even green battery lugs,.got those?
will not crank or cranks perfect but will not start which is it??????????????????????????/
the throttle position is bolted on to your throttle body, you should check your air flow meter also, the ecu, located behind the passenger kick panel, has a self diognastic mode with all the code definitions listed on the ecu, if i remember correctly turn the key on , dont let starter engage, pusk gas pedal to floor, release, then the ecu will bling red and green, two red blinks and one green means code 21 and so on
So its a wagon? or I dont know what S/W is. If the license plate light works, the light failure sensor could be bad. It should be in the left rear corner area and have 4 wires. Green, Light Green, Yelow/Green and White/black. You should have power on the Green going into the box, and the Light Green out to the tail lights. If you have power on the Green, but no power on the Light Green, then the box is bad, either replace the box, or you can just connect the Green to the Light Green wire to get tail lights operating.
The grinding below your feet is the starter, the oil light will allways come on when the rpm's drop to low.
This sounds like a vacuum leak, clogge EGR, throttle position sensor,or incorrect timing.
from 96 on you need a scanner to turn off code light, go to auto zone and they will turn it off for free, just tell them the problem.with the light still on the computer thinks it still has a problem.
