SOURCE: I have Kohler 12Res generator,sometimes

If it has a couple hundred hours or more, try cleaning the slips rings on the back of the rotor shaft. They should be very shiny and not black or polished looking.

I am facing problem from Kohler RS14, It is working/starting fine on LPG but not working on Natural Gas, on NG it is not taking starting, showing CC1, then CC2, then CC3 then stopped. And in case if it...

Is this set up for multi fuel????? or are you switching the fuel sources?
If the generator is multi fuel it will have two input gas lines one for LP and one for NG. If you are just putting gas to the one inley pipe IE single fuel it won't work. In naturalg as there is approx 1000btus of energy cu/ft in LPV there is 2513 almost twice as much. As such if a generator is not truly duel fuel, when it is set up for LP a small orfice to restrict the LPV gas flow is installed in the fuel mixer / carb. If you try and run on NG it won't get enough fuel, this orfice can be taken out and it should run fine.

Imperial ifs 40: gas comes out of jet and the burners work fine for a moment, then the flame ignites inside the burner and makes a worbling noise every now and then popping. is this low gas...

Check your manual and make sure your burner is configured for the gas that you are using. In most cases, there is an orifice that needs to be changed for using LP, or a screw setting that needs to be changed- most new appliances ship with a "city gas" configuration ( AKA NG - Natural Gas) and need to be configured for LPG (Liquified Propane Gas). The fitting(s) that need to be changed are tagged. This is due to the pressure difference between NG and LPG. Propane (LPG) runs at a higher pressure.
You state that your fryer is LPG. If you are running it on NG ("city gas") you need to consult your manual for converting it to NG. Outside of making sure that you are set up for the right gas, you should not have to make any other adjustments. For safety reasons, gas regulator pressure adjustments are for the most part no longer possible on gas appliances.

Hi im a plumber/gas fitter who has been asked if i can convert a wildcat 410 (a2) ser 1983 from lpg to ng which is currently in use at a crash repair spray booth is this possible?

Yes look up the gas valve part # and find the LP kit for that model number. It will come with new pilot orifice, new burner orifices and the springs to replace inside the gas valve. Remember that natural gas is .08"wc and LP is a heavier gas it needs to be set at 11"wc .You need a manometer to check the pressure before you light it again .Did you know that propane provides more energy per unit volume than natural gas. Heat is measured in BTUs, or British Thermal Units. Propane provides about 2500 BTUs for the same volume of natural gas that only gives 1000 BTUs.

LPG / NG portable generator runs on propane but wont run on natural gas

While propane and natural are similar, some devices require changes to properly operate on the selected fuel.

Information about this should be in the owners manual for the unit.

An off the cuff guess is that the gas pressure from the NG source isn't high enough, or that there is a gas regulatior on the generator that would need to be adjusted for NG.

Is there a conversion kit from lp to natural gas for this model VM450SSP

Hi,

Usually there are no conversions for LPG - NG on BBQ units. You need to contact the manufacturer about this and then get a 'Gas Safe' engineer to carry out the conversion.

The reason for this is that LPG is a higher pressure (37mb) than NG (20mb), and stringent testing must be carried out for leaks etc.

I hope this helps

Converting LP to NG

The install manual on the dacor web site insists that Natural Gas requires the nozzles be removed, that low pressure NG works with the large 'default size nozzles'. Have done the conversion, in Australia, for my own barbecue, worked ok
Gas is too dangerous to make mistakes with. All I can suggest if Dacor is difficult is take the pdf of the installation instructions, link in the first replies, and the barbecue to a local gasfitter/plumber and ask them to work on it. they will be able to do the calculations from the existing nozzle size, lpg pressure, ng pressure, and required BTU output, to put in correctr nozzles

Dacor Australia are much easier to deal with.
