Hi i am using samsung galaxy s4 exynos octa core 16gb version i have updated the firmware to the latest kernel version and the build number is JDQ39.I9500XWUBMG5 but now a days when videos and movies pasted in external sd card it wont play any of the video players i have sandisk 64 gb external sd ,, whenever videos of external sd played will get hanged or the message pops up as this video cannot be played.. Upgrade the firmware to the latest stock version.

Remove any free apps that might be crashing or downloading lots of adverts.
Make sure you are in a good reception area for your 3g or wireless. Google play needs a good network connection to download its updates and apps.
