SOURCE: cannot connect to admin on GT704WG

try power off/on and then reset hold the reset in for at least 10sec - holding it in for 1-2sec is the same as power off - but i would still physically remove the power for at least 30secs remove all the lan cables - just plug in the one PC you use then hold the reset for 10secs 192.168.0.1 - is the default login - so should work now - if not the router is faulty whats the status of all the lights on the router

I purchase a netgear universal wireless internet adapter to connect on my samsung tv to get the internet , netflik etc.....i was not able to pass the test with the gateway ping which failed. the model...

I have a couple of questions

1. What gateway are you pinging?
2. From what device are you sending the ping?

If you are trying to ping the gateway on the modem/router provided by your internet service provider then you will not get a ping response, this is because it's configured not to respond.

Netopia Gateway has internet connection, can ping, but no web pages

Connect directly to your ISP by what ever method. Get Network Magic from Cisco. Download the free evaluation copy and run it. Reintroduce your router and let Network Magic help you solve the trouble. It may be that your firewall is too tight.

I hope this helps you

Wireless don't work,I can only use internet explorer when ethernet is plugged in.I have good signal from my server box in either way. [ airmax 101

first of all change your wireless settings again.if it`s vista choose WPA,if it`s xp choose WEP.Try the channels from 3,6,9,11(and 13 if it`s available depends on your country).disable MAC security if it`s on. try connecting now.try to use internet.if not then goto start - run - .cmd - enter..type ipconfig.ping the default gateway,if successful then ping 4.2.2.2 ,if successful then ping www.yahoo.com.all ping statistics should say sent = 4,received = 4,lost = 0.if not u need to disable all securities like firewall and antivirus.update adapter`s driver & router`s firmware.provide fixed IP under wireless network connection and DNS server address should be 4.2.2.2 & 4.2.2.3. restart your computer it should work.if it doesn`t then change ur wireless settings again and connect without security.
come back for more advance steps if it doesn`t work.also provide model of router. Thanks..

Cant access internet (e-mails), possible dns error, and Domain Name Server may be down. Pinged remote host but no response

Sounds like either a cable has come unplugged/broken, the router/modem is on its way out, or your DNS cache needs to be cleared.
In this order:
Unplug the modem and/or router power cords. While unplugged, make sure the cat5 cables are connected securely(if using wired net).
Wait about 30 seconds to a minute, then plug the modem and/or router back in.

Test your internet connection.

If there still no connection to the internet, Click Ctar>Run, type in cmd, hit enter. This opens the command prompt.
On the black screen, type in ipconfig/flushdns
Close the command prompt, and re-test your internet connection.

If it still fails, verify with your ISP that your internet connection is active, and try a different router and/or modem.

Can you ping them, there may be a type of firewall that is blocking that traffic on the netopia router. Try and ping between computers and see what you have any comminication.
