I have one M9000S that has lost the Data Wedge program and the Mobile Companion. Now I've tried reloading the software for the Mobile Companion, but it doesn't seem to fully load. And when I try to manually start the NICTT.EXE, it immediately shuts down. Is there something I am missing?

Hi. Thanks for using fixya. This problem can be solved by reloading the software with flashtool or sony companion. There is no hard reset for Sony like other androids.

Firstly, you should make sure that do you have maken a backup before.
You can find the backup of contacts in the following place:

1. google account, if you have a google account and open the sync, the account might make a backup for your phone before, thus,when you lost your contacts, you can recover them from google account.

2.Official PC companion in computer, generally, you should upgrade the android phone via official PC companion provided by manufacturer, and this PC companion will make a backup for the phone when you connect the phone to the computer,and lauch the application,if you have open the automatical backup fuction.

3.3rd-party android phone assistant, I think you might have installed a 3rd-party android phone assistant for installing apps conveniently, and most of android phone assistant have a backup feature as PC companion.

so, you should try the ways above to recover contacts.

However, if you do not have any backup, and you have a vcf files in the phone'SD card, I think you can recover the vcf files from the SD card. learn more here: Android Data Recovery

You should check that is there any backup in the OTA or Nokia PC companion, and check the sim card or SD card in the phone, because the phone wille make a copy for contacts in the sim card or sd card.if you want to recover them know more here: sim card data recovery

Formatting normally clears a hard drive of all data, this device is essentially an external hard drive.
If its recorded programs, films or data then you've probably lost them, however if its the software which drives the system, then the best place to start is the Toshiba website.

I am afraid that you cannot recover your telephone records, unless you've made a backup before update your omnia.

Next time you decide to upgrade your handset, backup all data first. You can use software such as Jeyo Mobile Companion, which can backup you contact, sms, and telephone log data.

you can reset the phone to factory default settings by Start>Accessories>Clear Storage. All programs and data installed will be lost.

Though Docs to Go is supported by Palmone, it is still a 3rd party software and will jam your unit like you wouldn't believe. I reloaded mine 15 times before I gave up and quit using it. The Fatal error is an all out jam. The Docs can even duplicate themselves and yes you end up dumping the program from your e2 and reloading before it will work again. The e2 is good and I made mine do internet wirelessly but could never whip Docs.
