Hi,
I have bought a brand new Sony DSC T20 only two weeks ago and took many pictures on different lighting, flash, etc conditions on different objects. I also took many pictures with auto settings. But once I transferred the images to the PC, I was shocked to see very low quality images. Though the images were taken with 8MP and 5MP settings, the resolution quality was similar to images taken by a low quality mobile phone camera (VGA). I tried to view the images on Philips 190S monitor, HP PC (Intel 82945G Express Chipset graphics adapter), 32 bit color, 1024x768. I also tried other non HD support PC's (ASUS & Toshiba) and the result was the same. Can it be with trying to view the images on non HD graphics cards, or a malfunction of the camera ?
Regards
If you took the images at 8MP or 5MP settings, then normally you have a high resolution picture, was the picture clear at the cameras LCD monitor? As you said its like low res in your PC, please check the image file size 8MP resolution will be approx. 3Mb size, if its about that figure, then the problem is in the camera, if the file size is about 500K maybe its in the camera settings, PC cant affect resolution, unless you only have VGA card and monitor, hope this will help, thanks

Your camera has a gyro image stabilizer. The Gyro is faulty as many are in these camera. Go into menu of the camera and turn of image stabilization. This should solve the problem.
I found this solution on another site and it worked for me. Good luck!
hi - thanks - you're right. I called SONY last week. They told me to reset, as you describe. here's also what I discovered - the flash locks you out in Burst (fast frame) mode. The flash can't recover that fast. Out of Burst mode, you can control the Flash. Isn't it a much better camera with the flash? Enjoy your W80! Thanks, Jim Connecticut, USA
Well, it seems that this is either a manufacturing defect or a defective/sub-standard part being used in the product. It would do Sony well to address this problem immediately so that all of us Sony lovers would continue to believe in their products. If this can be solved via a firmware upgrade then I hope Sony can guide us through it.

I bought the WSC-80 for my parents and had the same problem. You will get Sony reps on this forum (and other support forums) telling you to "set the white balance" and "it happens with all camera's because of the white balance."
They are trying to get people who haven't bought their P.O.S. camera to think the end user is the problem....you are not the problem.
I have sent my camera in twice now, once because it was blurry (they reset the lense....everything was fine) and now I am getting the yellow tinge on my pics.
I can take three pictures in a row (within seconds) the light is the same, settings are the same, people are the same, etc and two will be yellow and the other will be perfect.
Research all the Sony Models, they suffer from the same problem.....I will NEVER buy Sony again, I bought the "top of the line" for my parents for x-mas and sony made me look like a fool.
This sounds like what started happening with my camera a few weeks ago. I found that turning the LCD screen off during picture-taking allows me to take pictures. I then have to go into review mode to look at the pictures I took using the LCD screen.
Definitely not a great fix. I'm trying to locate a firmware upgrade that may solve it.
