Shorts My 25GT270 tv just quit. Blown Fuse. replaced it, but blows as soon as you plug it in wall. Checked diodes(all good) and it shows no shorts in power connections. It also opened up the 2.7ohm ceramic resistor. I replaced it also but still blows fuse. Could it be in the HV circuit? Any help appreciated. Thanks

I removed the H/out transistor and with a LCD meter on 200 it read less than 1 ohm between any 2 leads, except from B to C with + lead on C it read 1.2 ohms

The horiz. output was shorted so I replaced it. now it does not blow the fuse. it tries to come on but I hear a ticking sound at the Flyback transformer. sounds like a watch ticking. the front of the screen crackles but won't light up.

Could it be in the HV circuit? first you isolate h/output section from power supply. make power supply output ok. check h/output section for short circuit 1 print short near eht 2 diodes or cap.near eht 3 yoke H winding just by removing connector 4 EHT transformer regards

there is a sparking in crt.
1 you will have to check power supply for more outpu, due to that high voltege in filament &g2 may have created problem.
    2 check crt.
    caution
put of tv set & discharge crt before you check crt base.

There is no power getting to the tv. The tv just went off while watching it

if no stand by power indicator in the front panel it was an indication of power supply failure. replace blown fuse at the same time you must check other component that cause the fuse to blow. like shorted fet transistor and bridge type diode.

Sony 6060F blown fuse

hello!
there is a standard procedure for proper replacement of blown fuse: CRT TVs: unplug degaussing coil, replace blown fuse with 2amp fuse and turn on the set. If it works, reconnect degaussing coil, replace the fuse with correct value(5-8) amp, depends on model(see fuse note next to holder). Enjoy the show! If in a process of replacing the blown fuse with 2amp w/o degaussing coil it blows again, forget about the next step. Set need repair. It could be an easy one, replacing 1 or 2 shorted diodes or bridge rectifier, but could be real piece of work if the power supply got "fried". If your knowledge won't go further, than fuse replacement, I'd recommend local TV repair shop.
good luck,
Alex.

After I put a fuse in the player, and plug into wall, the fuse immediately blows.

Hi,
Your fuse blown again because you have a short on the circuit. You may visit my link http://www.fixya.com/support/r8053361-fuse_keeps_blowing for more info.
I've suspect that you have short on rectifier diode/main filter capacitor/regulator IC/transistor. This is quite fixable.
Hope it may help you.
Thanks for using fixya.

Sony STR-D565 fuse continues to blow

You could have a shorted winding in the power transformer. The diodes in the power supply can be shorted. Filter capacitors can short and send power to ground which will blow the fuse.

No Power

all sets must have rated fuse for protection. some units now use what is called a PICO-FUSE.this type of fuse is soldered into the pc board. usually marked with location i.d. F301,F901,F400. etc. these fuses look like resistors or in-line coils. check continuity w/ohm meter. if new fuse blows as soon as you plug in tv, suspect bridge diode ciruit or main filter cap(large ripple filter by main fuse. if new fuse blows when you try to turn on, suspect 130v regulator or high voltage short(horizontal-output, flyback transformer) good luck!

Blows the 20amp fuse when the heat is turned on

It has a short. Its likely the power $5 power diode.

It has to be checked first if its good then the mag tube may be bad.

Its likely the diode. You can test it by removing it and using a ohm meter to test it. Voltage should only flow 1 way if it flows both ways its shorted.

Sylvania 6632 LG blows fuse when plugged in

I too had this problem. I read some posts on this site about how to repair it, and low behold, they worked! I took the back off of the TV, and the first thing I found was the fuse was blown. With my meter, I checked the first 1N5406 rectifier diode after the fuse, and found that it had shorted out. Then I had to learn to desolder the diode, which I learned about on Youtube. I bought a pair replacement diodes at Radioshack for $1.49 and four replacement 125 volt 4 amp fuses. The whole repair cost about $5.00 and a few hours about learning about electronics. The TV works great! Good times!

Fuse blows when it gets plugged in

No it doesn't sound like a resistor, it sounds like you have a short in power supply, you can look for bad Diodes in bridge rectifier,or solder bridge, or transistor short, start from beginning to end. It is definately a short and most of the time resistors open and this will not cause a blow just a dead set.

Nothing works

The fact the set blows up the correct fuse is because it has a short ahead in the circuit,it could be one of the diodes(4) that is shorted,if one of these guys is bad all of them should be replaced with the exact replacement, ahead of them it should be a regulator and he is bad (shorted) it could have taken the diodes and the main fuse. The cause might have been a power surge. If you are familiar with tv service you can check the regulator and the diodes before you put in a new fuse,if you are not too familiar be safe and take the set for an estimate. If you suspect power surge or lighting damage it might not be worth repairing.Let Us know if you need more information.
