Shampooer won't pick up water

The shampooer lays down the foam but when I turn the tank to off and try to **** up the water, there is no water coming from the carpet. I don't like the idea of all theat dirty water sitting in the carpet.

I have a Kirby G6 and carpet shampooer won’t foam or produce even foam / water - I have tried : Soap sue plug is in place Sponger filter in place neither of these parts are clogged . Attached correctly...

If you are using the correct shampoo then the tank my need to be replaced. They will clog if tank wasn't cleaned after last used. Check that the dial is open and both filters are in place , add water and shampoo and test without the hose connected . If you still have no suds coming out then just order a new tank.

My Kirby shampooer wont foam

Start with the hose OFF the tank (make sure small filter is in place).Fill the tank with water and KIRBY DRY SHAMPOO (other shampoo's wont foam) then turn the vacuum on. At this time the shampoo will come out as a stream of foam. If the shampoo come's out as liquid then you will need to check the tank. If shampoo was left in the tank ,then the pick-up hose inside the tank my be colgged. These are hard to un-clogg so replacement of the tank may be needed.

If you have never used this shampoo, we highly recommend reading our ONLINE MANUAL. This is a simple but very effective unit but you have to learn how to use it and "common sense" will not be enough! HOW TO - V I D E O S

Tank with soapy solution is attached in place of the bag. It utilizes the air coming out of the exhaust to blow soapy water on a small screen that turns it into thick foam. The foam is simply laid over the carpet (you must vacuum before you shampoo). Foam allows the spread of a small amount of water over the area so carpet is not soaked all the way through. Foam is left on the carpet for a few minutes so it has just enough time to moisten the fibers of the carpet and loosen the dirt (not too long otherwise foam may dry). Then foam maker is set to "OFF" and you slowly pull Kirby vacuum over the area where you laid the foam. The rotating brush in the shampooer nozzle rubs the moisture off carpet fibers and and throws it into the tray in front of the unit. You will not see gallons of dirty water but that is because you did not put it on the rug in the first place. Carpet should dry within 1-4 hours (depends how many times you laid the foam and what is humidity in the room). After it dries it has to be vacuumed. Solution that did not get picked up with the shampooer brush dries and shampoo additives do not let the dirt stick back to the fibers of the carpet. It is loose when it dries so in order to pick up what is left, you must vacuum again.
Shampoo:
You can use any carpet shampoo sold in your local store but make sure that this is carpet shampoo that makes foam and pay attention how much you have to dilute it with water as various shampoo products come in different concentration. Avoid using "just anything" that makes foam. Some household chemicals (such as dishwasher fluid) will do great job but it will leave carpet unprotected so dirt will stick to it so well that you will have a filthy rug in no time. What parts go to a Kirby Shampooer?

There is a shampooer head with shampooer brushroll, water tank, small hose that hooks to the tank, collection tray

Need to use the Kirby shampoo. It goes down as wet suds but you pick up the suds with the vacuum when it drys. Fill tank adding 1 cap full of soap (kirby soap only) per level on the side, this attaches on the side where the bag is attached

After using the shampooer you need to reattach the vacuum bag and main brushroll nozzle as though you were just vacuuming up dirt.

Instructions:

Lift the front of your kirby up (front part with light) open the handle on the dail in the front (if epquipt), remove the power head, put on height adjustment on highest level, turn dial on front of power head until you see 2 red arrows facing each other, unlock by turning knob, power head should come right off, get shampooer out the power head for shampooer with collection tray, make sure dial is set red on red, put on front of Kirby and lock in, turn dial to green on green arrows, fill tank adding 1 cap full of soap (Kirby soap only) per level on the side, this attaches on the side where the bag is attached, line up arrow and notch and turn, to hook up hose put Kirby down to lowest level, notched end of hose hooks in on tray other end on the tank,on/off switch refers to the foam, Turn machine on to lay the foam & scrub carpet, take shampooer back off to extract the foam once it's dry.

Good luck.

My G series kirby carpet cleaner will not **** up the water or foam very well

The Kirby shampooer deposits the foam onto carpet, and works it into the carpet with the shampooer brushroll. After the carpet is dry,use the vacuum itself to pick up the dry foam and dirt. The Kirby Shampooer is not an extraction shampooer

Kirby Sentria

Your shampooer is not broken. (sorry Fanny)

You are missing a wee screen that fits on the hole where the little hose plugs into the tank. Check inside the hose end or down inside your shampooer box. Here's a link to my online Kirby shampooer instructions...

Kirby G4 not distributing shampoo...

You are missing the wee round suds screen that goes over the hole where the hose attaches to the tank. It may be wedged in your hose.

Kirby Vacuum Shampoo Attachment

If your trying to shampoo your carpets but the water flow is to weak and it trickles through the spout to the carpet leaving small puddles

This problem often occurs when the foam filter is not replaced after rinsing or ends up in the shampoo hose at an angle preventing foaming. If you take the small shampoo hose of the shampoo tank the filter should be on the tank, if not, it may have come off and be in the hose. If it’s not there locate it, likely in the area where you last cleaned the shampooer or in the box, and put it back on the tank. While this should be cleaned after each use, care should be taken to replace it and not lose it.

The problem may also occur if you don’t actually add the Kirby Dry Foam Shampoo to the water or if you use some thin else.

Take care to also clean and replace the air filter after rinsing. It is located under the shampoo tank where the tank fits onto the vacuum.

Kirby Ultimate G carpet shampooer not producing foam anymore

I was having the same problem. There is a filter plug that came loose on mine and went down into the hose. It belong on the water tank and fits in there tightly and the hose end goes over it. That's what actually makes the foam.

Kirby Ultimate G Series

Ok, I will try to explain this as well as I can. Please bear with me. Remove the dust bag, cover and all, from the machine. Attatch the shampoo tank to the part where the dust bag attatched on the machine (not on the handle). Remove all attatchments from the front of the machine, and attatch the shampoo foam "collector", ensuring that the belt is over the drive. Connect the small hose between the tank and the foam collector. Mix the water and shampoo as directed on the bottle, in the tank. Turn the knob on the top of the tank to on, then start the machine. I run the foam over about three sections, and then turn the knob back to off, lower the collector, and run back over it to pick up all the foam and dirt. I hope some of that makes sense.
