You need to buy HDMI calble of your panasonic TV to cooonect it to your laptop.
one end of your cable connect to your laptop and other end of cable connect to HDMI port at the back of your TV.
try this you will get success.

What kind of cord do I need to connect my laptop so Netflix Movies can play on our T.V.?

Hi Candice,

First, without the model of your TV *and* laptop, no one will be able to give more than general information. It is much better to provide too much info than not enough - to get questions answered quickly here. With that said..

The short answer is that you need a cable that will connect to your note book (most likely either Video [yellow], S-Video, VGA, DVI, Display Port or HDMI) and the TV (most likely RF, Video, S-Video, PC / VGA, HDMI or RGB) Only the HDMI cable will provide sound with video. The others will require either an audio connection from the laptop (probably via a 3.5mm stereo headphone output jack) to the TV (most likely standard "RCA" jacks [red & white] - or settling for the laptop speakers or external amplified speakers plugged into the headphone jack.

If you are unable to locate a cable that has the connector supported by the laptop with a connector offered on the TV, it is likely because it is not possible to connect the two (HDMI to video, etc.) with only a cable. Additional hardware (probably expensive if available) will be needed to up or down convert & split audio to make it compatible.

Take a photo of the jacks offered by your laptop and those on your TV to a respected TV / Audio store / department for additional assistance. Some Radio Shack store employees are very good - and some are just plain horrible. Save your receipts in case it doesn't work to your liking.

Keep in mind that a $50 Roku box will stream Netflix (and a whole lot more) to most TV's "right out of the box" - or by buying $10 HDMI cable online to connect an HDTV. Don't spend 20, 30 or more dollars on an HDMI cable unless you want to pay too much!

I hope this helps and good luck!

Good luck!

I have a Sony Wega DLP with no sound through HDMI all of a sudden. Can't give exact model at the moment but it is a projection TV definitely 5years old at least. It has only 1 HDMI input and I've been...

The first step, and you hinted at it already, is to check cables and connectors. Especially with any electronics that old, connectors go bad if the wiring is moved, wiggled over time.

What you could try, since your WEGA is an older unit, is to connect your peripheral devices through the Component Inputs to your TV- at least one unit and see if the problem is resolved. Then you know for sure its either a cable or a connector.

Next step- try another HDMI cable and see if the sound comes back. If not, then its either the connector or the internal TV amplifier.

To troubleshoot the question on the amplifier, take a "Line Out" off your TV and run it to a stereo to see if audio is coming through. This is a lower level signal and doesn't rely on the higher power transistors required for a TV amplifier. If the Line Out audio works, then you know the TV amp needs repair.

Keep us posted!

How do I connect my Laptop Acer 5735 to my TV Sony KDL-40NX700, what kind of connection cables do I require?

If Your TV and Laptop have HDMI Port then you just need a HDMI Cable.
But if you dont have HDMI port. then you need two cables one from video and one for audio.
For Video you either VGA Cable(if you have VGA Port in your TV) or VGA to RCA Cable (Yellow Pin will be for video)
For audio You Need 3.5mm pin to RCA (white and Red for audio).
This pic is of VGA to RCA Cable

Connecting my laptop to my new TV

Hi there.
Check on the back of the TV for a VGA input port, if it has what you will need is a male to male VGA lead and a mini stereo to mini stereo audio lead to plug into the headphone port on the laptop to audio in on the TV.

Good luck and thanks for using Fixya!!!
