Try removing the card first and then trying to power up the camera. Cameras often fail to turn on/off when a card goes faulty. Next I would try pushing the playback button, it also acts as a power button but starts the camera in playback mode. If this works it could indicate a problem with the power switch circuit itself. If there is still no sign of life I would suspect a fuse to have blown. They are internally located and very small, you would need to have a service centre try replace it for you. Good Luck!

You have to zoom the camera lens out for that lens to work.

No. The LA-DC58K only allows you to use the TC-DC58K teleconverter with your camera.

The Tamron 28-200mm lens is intended for use with SLR (single-lens reflex) cameras, not with point&shoot cameras. As far as I know, there aren't any adapters which will allow you to use an SLR lens with the G10.

A teleconverter is an add-on accessory that works with an existing lens. The 28-200 is a lens, which is intended to be used as-is. Using it on the G10 would basically require removing the built-in lens on the G10. As that lens can't be removed...

Lens error, restart camera

Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ...

Here's some things that you can do to try to correct it. They only seem to work for less than 50% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty, they're worth a try:

Lens error in a Canon G10

Try restarting it a couple of times. If that doesn't make the error go away, the camera needs to be serviced. There is a really good site and all they service are Powershots. They are wonderful if you need to get service for one of these Canon Powershot cameras and they are really reasonable for the cost. Your problem is on their site. Try going to: www.camerasandparts.com Look at their service and repair and you should see it there. They are amazing for service on these models. I wish you a lot of luck with it, that's a really great camera.

Camera won't take pictures.

Only six month old - warranty claim then. Check out the Tech support at Canon website first.
