SOURCE: Honda g100 stationary engine starts and runs well

Same problem here. I solved it by removing carburetor, removing float and valve seat and soaking in carb cleaner overnite. Blew out all the orifices with air and reasembled. Runs as good as ever!
Always turn gas off and run until empty, gas evaporates and leaves residue in bowl and valve.

Wont run off 1/2 choke

I had a problem with a honda generator that would only run on full choke. I removed the carburetor and cleaned the main jet with a wire and carb spray. Problem solved. Fuel stabilizer should be used with todays gas mixtures that have ethanol in them. Hope this helps.

Engine does not continue to run

Are you laying off the choke at any point? Full choke should only be used when starting a cold engine, it should run with no choke on full throttle. If there is not enough throttle i'd first try adjusting the tiny black screw on the carb beneath your air filter while you have it idling, letting the throttle have a little bit more room. If this doesn't work and you're running it properly than you may need to make some adjustments to the H L settings for your gas/air mix. This is also done while idling mind you and only with a clean air filter.

I have a Honda GX610 horizontal shaft that will idle with full choke but dies when throttle is applied or choke is reduced. Any suggestions? Thanks

Not getting enough fuel or you wouldn't need the choke. Need a clean spark plug and take carb apart and clean. Sounds like it has been sitting a long time and gummed up.
