Hi Diane,

That is a read error on the hard drive. Depending on whether or not the machine is in warranty, Dell should be able to replace the drive. If its out of warranty they you're best getting a local computer guy to replace the drive for you and reinstall your operating system.

Many thanks,

Jon.

My toshiba laptop displays an expected error occured. Error Code 0xc0000034 during booting window

This error code 0xc0000034 usually indicates a problem with the boot configuration data (BCD) file on your Toshiba laptop.
The BCD file stores boot configuration information and is required for Windows to start up. The most common cause of this error is a missing or corrupt BCD file.

You can try the following steps and can try to resolve this issue:

1. Boot into the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE)
2. Launch the Command Prompt.
3. Type the following command to rebuild the BCD file: "bootrec /rebuildbcd".
4. Press Enter and follow the on-screen instructions.

Note: If these mentioned steps do not resolve the issue, you may need to perform a repair install or a clean install of Windows.

Emachines screen says no bootable device insert boot disk. I have no boot disk

This error indicates that the system is not able to find a boot-able device to load the Operating System. It could be something as simple as a disconnected hard drive, or it could even be a corrupt hard drive.

You can check if the hard disk is being detected in the BIOS. The key to enter BIOS in E-machines systems are Tab, Del or F2.

If the hard disk is being detected in the BIOS, it could be a faulty hard disk. You can try booting from the recovery partition by pressing Alt+F10 when starting up the computer. If you're able to get into the Recovery Partition, you can try a recovery, but you might lose all your data. If you're not even able to get into the Recovery Partition, you'll need to get the Windows disc for installing the Operating System again.

Windows 8 error code 0xc000000e

Hi I have this error code 0xc000000e windows 8, You get three options,
1. Enter to retry
2. Press F8 for start up settings
3. press F9 for to use a different operation system.
First two options do nothing, F9 will restart computer, and the I can boot from the boot disk. I have tried to rebuild the startup files, from the disk nothing is working. I can't get into the Safe mode. Guess only option is save all files to a back up HDD, I even tried to restore to a past date.

Computer is not booting up error code c0000218

You get this message from a corrupt or damaged registry or corrupt or missing drivers, or both. Unless you have made a full backup of the operating system and data, without the XP disc I don't know of any way you can fix this. See if a friend has the same operating system disk. If all else fails a reputable repair person can solve this.

Good Luck

Blue screen

A blue screen means operating system error. Your operating system will have to be either repaired or reinstalled using your recovery disc or operating system disc. A blue screen can also occur with a hard drive failure/crash. It's about 50/50 between system error and hard drive failure. If you have any issues or problems during or after the repair/reload of the operating system, then it's the hard drive and it will need to be replaced.
