Need to know btu on Goodman model ck42-1c

you have a 1.5 ton. 12000 btu's per ton. your model number has an 18 in it. tells you 18000 btu's

Looks like a 2.5 ton unit. There are 12,000 btu's per ton, and your model number reads 30 ie 30,000 btu's. 12 goes into 30 2.5 times.

That is a five ton unit...that's what the "60" in the model stands for.... 60,000 BTU.....12,000 BTU equals 1 ton...5 x 12 equals 60.

1 ton = 12,000 BTU
3 ton = 36,000 BTU

MPE36 = 36 / 12 = 3 tons

If this is the correct Model number, you have a 3 ton unit. 036=36,000 btu. 12,000 btu per ton.

That is a 2 ton system. Look at the model number and the 24 is the giveaway. A ton is = to 12,000 btu's. 24 = 24,000 btu's whick is 2 tons of cooling.

One ton of "refrigeration" is equal to 12,000 btu

Many HVAC people talk in tonnage. One ton is equal to 12,000 Btus. Therefore your model specifies your cooling tonnage at 3 and 1\2 tons. Your heating would be determined by how many if any supllimentary heat strips are added. If you live in Anahiem or Miami that's not really important. But if you live anywhere that gets down into the 40's at night you'll want strips. Cooling wise depending on where you live and what your insulation is like, I'd say your unit is good for 1100-1300 Sq feet of living space.
