When I turn the machine on it runs without me pressing the pedal. And it's going so fast it's shaking the table! Is there something I've pushed to make it do this or is this a machine problem? I would feel really stupid taking it to get repaired if it was something I could do myself.
try taking the foot control apart (dis-connect from power first). you should see a component rectangular in shape connected to the wires in the foot control. dis-connect this component (it will not adversely affect the running of your machine) and then re-assemble the foot control and test. if this did not fix the problem see a tech.
scott.
In an older machine, I would agree with the above reccomendation. But since your machine is rather recent, I would assume it uses an electronic controler instead of carbon units inside the foot pedal. I am afraid you will have to change the foot pedal or get it repaired as these are completely electronic now and do not work on the same principles as the older carbon units did.
I am having the same problem with my Singer Pixie Plus except mine runs when the foot isn't even plugged in.
Sorry, my message wasn't supposed to be specific to your post. Just adding to ppp
