Kindle Fire Factory Reset My kindle fire has a Question mark over the battery. Standard fix is to reset to factory defaults as follows: Cog Wheel | More | Settings | Device | Reset to Factory Defaults However, when I select "Reset to Factory Defaults " I get an error message claiming that the battery does not have sufficient charge to perform the reset. Sort of a catch 22. Please help. My battery is fully charged, but the device doesn't know it??

Shut your Kindle Fire down. Press and hold green button.

When it asks "Do you want to shutdown your Kindle press yes. Wait awhile and then try to start your Kindle Fire.

I would wait at least 25-30 minutes before I attempt to re-start it.

SOURCE: Kindle not charging

This is a common problem with the Kindle. If you are out of the warranty period I would first try a different cable even if the cable you are using works with other devices. If this still does not help try tilting the plug once it is plugged into the Kindle. Someti, eps wrapping the cord under the Kindle will hold the plug at enough of an angle to maintain contact and thereby charge the device. Not ideal but effective and ver cost effective.

My kindle fire will not charge. Lightening bolt appears, says charging but the % does not change. I have unplugged everything, turned it off and on, and changed receptacles. What do I need to do>

Try using a different charger and cable to make sure the battery is being properly charged. Your penultimate option is to back up all your files and perform a factory reset. Go to Settings > Device > Reset to Factory Defaults > Reset. If nothing has worked, then it's time to contact Amazon.13 Jun 2016
