I am not familiar with your specific model, but varying speed is usualy the first symptom of a bad belt. Look at the drive belt. If it seems kind of loose ( there should be some stretch, but it should also snap back quickly), it may need to be replaced.

Try that first. If that does not resolve it, let me know and we'll look further at other possible causes.

My Optimus LAB 1100 is playing 45s ok but the 33s sound like the chipmunks

the turntable speed is incorrect
adjust with the speed control setting
many quality turn tables have bar codes around the outside edge and when viewed under a light those bars appear to be stationary when the correct table speed is set
It is a strobe affect in time with the frequency of the light

Strange one here, The turntable in my Microwave wont turn off, even after timer runs out and micro shuts down when you open the door the turntable just sits there and spins without a care in the world

Power to the turntable motor is supplied by a relay mounted on the main control board ( the part behind the control panel). Sounds like the relay contacts are stuck in the closed (on) position. You can try getting to the main board and tap the small box looking parts on the board with something like a screwdriver handle and see if you can get it to unstick. If that doesn't work---board needs replaced.

Turntable is slow, especially noticable on 33 1/3 rpm

hi,
your turn table is a belt driven one. The speed turns down when the belt become expanded. you should replace the belt of your turn table. Also put some lubricant in its center shaft ( not from the top lubricate it slightly after removing the plater).

I have here added some video related to the replacement of belt for turntables.
Not the exact for your one,for all the belt driven turntable the procedure is the same

I have a Sherwood PD - 913 R and the pitch seems to be spinning out of sync which makes the RPM"s not right for 33 or 45 speeds, any help on what could be the cause is appreciated. There is a pitch...

The turntable motor might be the problem, if the grease is old it becomes hard causing the turntable to run slow, by your description we can rule that out since you indicate it runs to fast. therefore it is the voltage that powers the motor with a regulator "keeps voltage constant" or the motor itself will be the problem. The pitch control allows a small change in speed when required.

Turntables lags on pick up

I have the same exact problem with one of my 1210 MK2 turntables. It seems like the motor is too slow now. When I hit the start button or release the record, it takes much longer to speed up to the normal speed than my other same exact turntable. I don't think it has anything to do with the pitch slider. Please let me know if you find out what the problem is thanks!

I have a JVM1603BJ03 space saver micro wave. The turn table cracked in two, the plastic support device to turn the glass table has desenigrated into several small pieces. It appears the micro wave is...

Do you cook a lot of popcorn?

Do you place your food items in the center of the turntable as opposed to placing them off-center?

Both can cause repeated heating of the same spot on the turntable, which can stress it and allow it to crack.

You can buy replacement parts here.

I suggest that when you cook popcorn, place a paper plate or two upside-down under the bag and always place your food items off-center on the turntable tray.

Once you have the new parts, I would suggest at least a quick heat test. That is to heat one cup of water on high and it should boil in about 2 to 2-1/2 minutes.

If you would like to perform a more standard heat test, please see my Ask Mr. Microwave page.

If your magnetron is indeed running too hot, then it is probably dying. Sometimes - like a star - they can burn hotter right before they die.

Technics sl-1610 mk 2 turntable

Unfortunately, it does sound like a drive issue. Just so you know, these units are direct drive, so there is no physical motor. It's just a bunch of various circuits which drive the unit, and if any one of them go bad, it will affect your turntable speed. You will need to have this looked at by a service technician to determine which circuit is faulty.
