because you handset is locked. you need UNLOCK your handset IMEI .... and check if there is any SIMLock instruction?

Whoever can fix this deserves a medal. Even Nokia can't. My N900 has spent most of it's time in the Nokia Repair Centre since Christmas. Even a brand new replacement is not able to find a network. Most models are sim free up to now and cost around 500 quid. An expensive box full of ****. The only difference between the N900 and N95 is the touch screen, Maemo software and the side slide keyboard. Otherwise not in the same league.
