Greetings:
I have a Netopia wireless router - 3347 W. The good news is that all of the computers on my home network (3 of them) can access the internet. The bad news is that for some reason, I can no longer access the admin panel when key in the 192.168.1.254 IP address into IE or Firefox. I get a "cannot display the web page error.
That is the correct IP gateway address, and I can even telnet into the modem and view/change settings, but can't access via a web browser. Up until a couple of days ago, this problem did not exist. I've made no changes to my system or network.
The only other piece of data that I can offer is that I notice that the "wireless" led on the router seems to be blinking at a steady pace, even though I'm currently not accessing the router with a wireless device. Not sure if this means anything or not.
Any info that you can offer on what may be causing this problem, and how I can correct it would be greatly appreciated.
One last thing. I know that this router has a reset button, but I'd like to avoid, if possible, pressing it. I have a video security system connected to this router and a lot of configurations would need to be re-entered should I do a factory reset. I do feel comfortable using telnet to change any settings that you think may fix problem, but obviously I need some direction.
Thanks in advance!

Try this and see if it works for you. Telnet into the modem. Hyperterminal will work fine for this.
Type config, then hit the enter key.
Type set, then hit the enter key.
At this point look at your monitor. Does the bottom line look like this?:
autoConfig (on) [ off | on ]:
If so, type off. Then hold the enter key down for several seconds untill you get to lines that look like this:
Netopia-3000/xxxxxxxx (top)>>
Then type save and hit the enter key.
When the screen says that the configuration data has been saved, type exit and hit the enter key. Then type restart and hit the enter key. When the modem restarts close hyperterminal and access the Netopia using your web browser.

Hello,
I was actually able to speak with Netopia and they recommended CQG_042 technote. The link is above.
Thanks for responding though.

You mean what program? Telnet. Here's the quick setup. If it's already been installed and password protected, you'll need to grab the installation guide somewhere else.

SOURCE: i have Netopia 3347-02 but i have a Wireless Error help!!!
As im sure you found out the hard way, you have to swap the netopia out. You must've really snapped your lucky fingers for that one. I do this stuff all the time for a living, and I've never seen a Netopia not function correctly, a new one that is from your ISP anyway. Did you get the netopia from your ISP? or did you buy it on E-Bay, or Amazon.com, a netopia from another ISP wont function properly, but the wireless still should.
Bad modem, just swap it out. Its under warranty, its a new modem, that model number just came out last year. You wont even get charge for it. Its just frustrating when new equipment fails, and unfortuanatly, its becoming more and more common place it seems. Don't even get me started on my new motherboards from ASUS.
If its not a project, its no fun, right?...hehe

Thanks so much for your quick reply. I followed the above suggestions, unfortunately it did not correct the problem. But again, thanks for trying.
Thanks for the suggestion. Unfornately, when I typed it in, I get the following error:
Error: Command ('remote-mgmt') not found
I also scrolled down the list of all parameters and did not see a remote management option.
I'm open to any other ideas.
Thanks!
