No, the sub is dual 4ohms...meaning if you parallel the positive speaker terminals and the negative speaker terminals you will have a 2ohm sub. Conversely, if you series the pos and neg you will have an 8ohm sub. if you wirte to just one set of terminals on the sub you will have a 4ohm sub.

you have it, wire it parallel for max output ( parallel means both POS terms on sub connected together and connected to the POS output on the amp...likewise with the NEGs.

Yes, you can. Verify that your amp is 1ohm stable and that you have adequate power supply (i.e. alternator, batteries, capacitor or power cell, etc.) A 1 ohm sub will draw maximum output from your amp, so make sure you have enough input power. If you desire a lot of thump, 1 ohm is great, however if you want deep, rich full bass ( and listen to artists who play real music), then 2ohm or higher is prefferable.

Have a 1996 soundstream reference 1000s amp 2 chan. Want to hook up 2 2011 12 inch kicker cvt woofers 4ohm. What is the best way to run this set up?

I have Ref-1000s with two Pioneer TS-W1200C 4-ohm subs bridged in series. So it is 8-ohm mono load, easy for an amplifier, long durability, less heating, low current consumption. I have heard that this amp might break if used with low impedance loads.

How do i bridge 2-4ohm dvc's to a mono block

If you have a DVC 4ohm speaker, and you are using both voice coils, the amp is seeing a 2ohm load.
If you bridge the amp, you CAN run both subs as long as the amp is Two Ohms Stable.
Wire each subs voice coils in parallel.(Positive to positve, neg to neg.) (2ohms) each.
Then wire the two subs in series.(Neg from amp to neg of sub one, pos of sub one to neg of sub two. then pos of sub two to pos of amp.

If it sounds too hard, leave it as you are already running the amp at two ohms.

Wiring options

Hello chino2g,

For 3 DVC 4 ohm subs wired to a 2 ohm stable amp, your best option would be to wire all of the sub voice coils in series (individual 8 ohm loads) and then parallel the three subs for a final load of 2.67 ohms. There's really no other configuration. Here's the wiring diagram:

Hope this helps.

Mono amp to a 4ohm dvc sub

Hello joverstre525,

Sure, just wire both voice coils in parallel to the amp output terminals. The "wiring wizard" here shows the possible wiring options.

Hope this helps.

KAC-9104D output terminals

ok i have the same amp and 1 2ohm dvc sub and was woundering the same thing but from futher research and askin sum xsperts. What i found out is that it is only one channel and even tho there are 2 (+) and 2(-) they actually connect inside the amp makein it one . so if u wanted to wire sumthing parralel u wouldnt have to hook wires from one coil to the other on the speaker , u can just hook it up to the amp. so basically both +'s and negatives on the amp are actually one within it so all the power if you only use one set of them and if u wanna add more subs its just easier to add to the amp by using the xtras .

Adjusting wattage on kenwood kac 9103 class D mono amp

That amplifier is 900W x 1 @ 2ohms.
If your subs are 4ohm SVC wired Parallel, resulting in a 2 ohm load, each sub will only see 1/2 of the rated power. (450W ea.)
Your gain (sensitivity) setting should be between 75% and 85% to max. You will be fine.

Need help

It should be better to use the Pioneer GM-7200M Amp with your subs.

For 8 ohm setup hook up this way:
Amp out+ to Sub1 +
Sub1 - to Sub 2 +
Amp out - to Sub2 -

For 2 ohm setup hook up this way:
Amp + to Sub1 +
Sub1 + to Sub2 +
Amp - to Sub1 -
Sub1 - to Sub2 -
