Maytag, Model MBF2256HEW bottom freezer. Back wall of freezer completely freezes up and will not go below 20 degrees. Appliance parts store said it was probably the jazz control board. After getting all ice off the back wall of freezer installed new jazz control. Appears to not have fixed the problem as ice is building up again. Refrigerator maintains 40 degrees and freezer is back to 20 degrees. What next?

feel the sides or the coils on back if it has any see if they are hot or cold
SOURCE: MAYTAG,AUTO DEFROST PROBLEM
The defrost timer is normally located in the area of the temperature controls. There is a clutch head knob on the timer which can be rotated clockwise very slowly until a click is heard. Wait 30 minutes and defrost should take place in that time period. If defrost does occur and the system does not restart cooling, rotate the knob more and you will hear a second click and the compressor should start .
If the system restarts in the cooling mode in 18-22 minutes the defrost timer is good and the problem is more than likely in the defrost heater circuit.

What you have is a defrost problem. Most likely the defrost heater has failed. Read more about it HERE

SOURCE: fridge won't get cold
You need to defrost it and remove rear panel in freezer compartment. After you defrost it pour hot water in the hole in the center rear area of freezer to make sure it is draining good. After that take down model# from the inside of fridge on the side .You will need a defrost timer You can use the model number and and your local parts depot will order it acourding to the model.80% of the time the fridge is iced up that is what is causing it;Hope i helped:) Let me know if there are anymore thing you want to know before you try
