I've just had this prob on an inherited (just moved into new house) A2. Thought I was losing the plot as followed instructions to the letter re starting gas hobs. Got an engineer in to give the ecking thing a general service & told him about the hob. He said I wasn't pressing the knob hard enough. If you press the knob enough to make the ignition click, press the knob a bit further (it will go a bit further "in" honest). If you do that it should start like a good 'un (I felt sooo daft). Something to do with magnets!! Anyway, give it a try (this works for me unfortunately I've had the damn inner glass on the main oven go pop - yes, infront of an engineer twice in less than ten days. Knobs aside, I'm starting to go off this cooker. I want to cook to eat not have a "pretty" in the kitchen!).

It's probably had the jets changed to LPG, hence the low pressure.

I have an old belling farmhouse cooker the hob works fine but the oven isn't igniting manually or by the electric ignition The timer is manual and is stuck on the red patch I can't seem to shift it ...

, push in and turn the control knob to the full on position (large flame symbol). If your hob has an ignition switch on the facia, press it in until your burner lights. • Hold the control knob in for 15 seconds then release. If the burner fails to light within this time, release the control knob and wait one minute before attempting to re-ignite.
or
Push in the control knob and after a couple of seconds press the ignition switch. • Hold the control knob in for 15 seconds then turn to desired heat, If the burner fails to light within this time, release the control knob and wait one minute before attempting to re-ignite.

Belling G755 Cooker oven wont stay lit

I'll give this a go! With a cooker like this, you depress and then turn the control knob, press the ignition button and continue to depress the control knob for a few seconds. This is because a device called a thermocouple is heated by the flame and you have to continue to depress the control knob so that sufficient gas flows to heat up the thermocouple. If the thermocouple does not get hot or stay hot then the gas valve is automatically closed - stopping the gas. The thermocouple is a 'flame failure' safety device. If the gas gets cut off then the flame goes out and the thermocouple goes cold switching off the gas valve automatically. However, you are having to try and manually keep the gas going for a good five minutes. I would think that there is either a problem with the thermocouple or the gas control valve! hi im gerbee my suggestion is replace the pcv control wat brand u have, always also in philipines the electric hob is so very sensitive, the pcv cotrol is not repairable.or next time u by a new one gas cooktop more ok compare to electric ceramic hob, or use electric ceramic hob w/knob control compare to sensor type,i think the part of the sensor or pcv control is so very expensive, that why i buy an another one.dont try to repair more difficult to com.tnx

Cooker auto spark will not light two hobs. There is a spark and the hobs flame but on relaesing the knob they go out. Conitueing this for say 5 mins does no work either.

many hobs have a thermocouple which is like a small rod sticking up into the flame. when this is heated up, it holds the gas valve in. if the thermocouple has failed the gas valve will release as soon as you let go of the knob. only solution is to replace the thermocouples
