I have the Avaya partner voice messaging and the mailboxes have been set up but when the phone rings twice it goes to fax not voice messaging. How can I fix this

Yes it can. Depending on the type of voice mail attached to your system you can both have the lines answered with a seperate main greeting (partner messaging can do this) or answered by a seperate mailbox (all partner voice mails).

Multiple login error will clear up if you reboot your phone system with voicemail.

Partner System doesnt have light notification feature if voicemail left on carrier site. I suggest you purchase small voicemail (4 mailboxes) for about $250 with installation and cancell your carrier voicemail service. You will be able to see new message light, also you can access your mailboxes remotely. It will pay for itself if carrier services cancelled within 7 or 8 month. You will need to restart your phone system. Unplug black cord. Count to 5 and then plug it back in.
If that doesn't help because password is unknown you will need to login to adminstrative mailbox and reset password on the mailbox.

If you know the admin password, you can go in there and reset that mailboxes password.

How did you program the voicemail so a caller can not leave a voicemail to a particular extension? Line ownership? SO a call goes directly to a milbox?

You have to know the admin login to change a mailbox password.

For that, you need to know which voicemail system this is.
When you log in to check your mail, the lady says, "welcome to Partner......"
