HDMI upgrade card available?

This is a Mitsubishi WS-65511 rear projection TV. It has a memory card slot on the back, that is supposed to allow future upgrades and future connection possibilities. Is there an upgrade card available to allow an HDMI device to be connected to this TV?

My mitsubishi ws 65511 turns itself off. sometimes right away sometimes after hours of watching tv

I believe you have an overheating problem. Unplug your set and go to the back, make shire all dust is free from the cooling holes. This should fix your problem. If not pull a little further from thevwall and put a personal fan blowing on the back. Hope this helps.

Convergence CHIP on ws-65511

This TV uses either a single STK-393-100
or a pair of STK-392-570's

the only way to tell is to look inside.
unplug the unit and take off the back.
the convergence chip(s) is on the center board on the big finned heat sink.

There is only one 1080 connection in the back of this tv. I have my cable box and blue ray dvd player that need to hook to 1080

If you are referring to an HDMI input. you can buy a HDMI switch and be able to select many different sources. start by searching for an HDMI switch on Google

My Mitsu WS-65511 will not power on. When power is pressed on tv or on remove solid green light comes on for a moment as if television is going to come on and then it just shuts back off. I have tried...

I have had my WS-65511 fail like this, first at 4 years, second 2 weeks later, then 3rd time yesterday (4/14/2009). In past, the tech replaced a thermal sensor p/n 299P313010A (but Mitsubishi says that part is not for WS-65511 and that it does not have a thermal sensor - go figure). It is a white rectangle with about 30 pins in 2 rows and is soldered onto a board in the TV. List price is about $25.

Hi,
Your tv requires replacement of STK393-110 as it creates convergence problem and its available Parts Store here. If you want to do the job at your own, you need to know good soldering skills or get service of nearest TV repair shop.
